I have been to busy to download them, but if it makes you feel better, here are your AT-286's! I need to have elite troops to use in my playtest of ERA OF WAR! I hope you don't mind if I post some pictures on my thread of them in action. (I turned the one into a 2.5D model with a couple quick cuts and folds). Thank you for your wonderful work. This has made it half-way around the world, and will soon be battling on Mars!

I have got to say that these looked AMAZING on the forum, but I downloaded this set tonight and I have got to say it looks even BETTER coming off the printer. I have got to say that I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a set of figures. I ran and drug my wife to the computer and said, "look at these..." she was less excited than me, but then again she doesn't get it! When I asked her what she thought, she said, "they are awesome, but they looked like the thing that was in the tub this morning." I told her that it was a testiment to your drawing... because the thing that was in the tub did look like this, but the thing was even BIGGER... one huge honking spider. I can NOT wait for the rest of the set. The one commander (non-trenchcoat one) is going to be my elite troops... Thri-Kreen Blademasters! There is potential for a FULL army in this one set...

WOW i´m excited because excitation ;D. I´m glad that you liked this bugs. It makes me want to continue doing more. i was looking the ones that i build and i see them a little tall but i think that could be diferent tall between guys of the same especie. I´m reescaling the archers and the second set of warriors, and i want to include in this set the crossbow hero. You make me think to do something like a spider-insect-bug....monster or something like that, like a thri-kreen but with spider form. Thanks for your commnets Edit: A question Did you drug your wife to the computer Sorry for my english but i don´t understand this expresion

DRUG: past tense of "drag."
I was so excited when they were coming off the printer, I took her arm and pulled her to the computer.
She DID use the word "awesome" to describe them, and she RARELY says anything like that about my figures or models. So, to get a positive word from her is a HUGE compliment and a credit to your work.
By the way, no need to make one with a big energy weapon. The way you have these laid out, a little cut and pasting, and I can have these carrying anything I want. One more credit to your great design. You have the arms laid out in such a way they can EASILY be modified.
The only thing that wasn't a "positive" is the small parts (like the antennae) that is hard to cut around... but even THAT is an easy fix by thickening the pieces by drawing around them with a markers.
I did think they were a little big at first, but not all figures are exactly human size. That makes your Champion even more imposing!

Umm . . . some people use "drug" that way, but where I come from (family of school teachers) and online conjugators it should be "dragged." It all depends what part of the world you are in. I got laughed at in England for saying "two weeks" instead of "fortnight" and I had never heard the word "fortnight" outside a 19th century novel.

This is bringing back memories of having to memorize the first 40 lines of the Prelude to the Canterbury Tales in Middle English.
Whan that Aprille, with his shoures sootha, The draught of Marche hath pierced to the roote, And bathed every vein in switch liqeur, Of which virtue engendred is the fleur ...

Ahh!! thanks for clarification. Some times i understand half of thing that you say, and i say the half of the thing that i want to say by my limited english . Kiladecus please say thanks to your wife for her compliment About as difficult to cut are, i know that they are very hard to cut because of the small parts, i noticed that when i printed them . They are hard to cut but not impossible

I will try a different technique. I love the look of them. You did a great job making certain parts line up so they are strong. You have some arms beside another arm and it is very sturdy. I will try to make my posts here more clear. Sometimes I have a hard time reading my OWN posts!

Being a huge dark sun fan....and aficiando of thri-kreen, i can say this bout them. Thri-kreen are a pack mentality and usually travel in nomadic groups of bout 6-10 individuals with the strongest leading. Thier insect nature makes it impossible for them to learn magery but shamans and druids are common amongst them. They also have psions in their makeup though they are less common. One thing though...i hate...HATE what wizards did to them they are spose to have a thorax like in this picture....i wonder if this chap would make an alternate set for us old school players?

Don't you mean the Gaster or Abdomen? The Thorax is the chest part.

Sorry but yea...my bad but you can see it in the picture. Another tip would be to not include any blades unless they are bone colored. Thri-kreen make thier weapons out of dasl, its a mix of sand thier poison and an herb they chew to make the sand liquefy and it can be molded like clay. They then shape it into thier weapons, it is however two brittle to make long weapons so they would use bone or some other element. Metal on darksun was ultra rare. The end result of the dasl is it turns a clear light blue in color. If you look in the pic i posted youll see thier gythka..the staff weapon he holds. on each end is a chat'kcha(throwing wedge) they use. To make thier gythkas they simply tie one to each end with some leather strapping. Another weapon they use can be seen in the kreens right lower arm in the background. I cant remember the name but its basically a jawbone axe, which typical of thier standard weapon loadout. Heres a slightly better pic of the axe. heres a link for some ideas, i think it would be neat if someone did a darksun themed set *hint* worlds.wikidot.com/weapons

I almost wish I hadn't seen that other pic. I really like Reivaj's Thri-Kreen guys on top of the cabinets above my desk attacking the GunCrawl figures amongst the SciFi buildings and vehicles.
I think I might have to create a Gaster mod to add to them now. I think I might try my hand at a 3d abdomen, but looking at them, that wouldn't look right. Maybe a set of 2d abdomens at various angles.
Or, I can just go back to being happy with them the way they are.
I think option 3 is going to win.

They look good. The Thri-Kreen looks a bit fiddly to cut out.
But this should be a new thread under New Member projects.
BTW, I'm going for option 3.

I am going for option 4: Using them the way Reivaj designed them.
I love these figures, and refer to them as "Chitterlings." If you want to stick to D&D that is fine. As for me, I see them as they are... artistically brilliant, and beautifully rendered.
I say if you want to change them, that is your perogative. I think he did a great job with these,.
You wouldn't add arms to the Venus Di'Milo would you?

My thoughts exactly. Option 3 was leaving them as is, by the way.
And after re-reading my post about Kefrem's figures, I think it came off as almost rude. If so, I apologize. But as several members have their own interpretation of a type of figure, these interpretations deserve their own threads. If Nick or someone would be so kind as to split off the discussion of Kefrem's Thri-Kreen from Reivaj's Thri-Kreen thread, it would be appreciated.
Different style, different thread.
Or I may be off my gourd again ... LOL

I would not mind that new images from other people are added to this thread. If I ever have some time i´ll try to do some old school Thri-Kreens for kefren. Kiladecus: What the meaning of Chitterlings?? Kefren: I like that clay golem the only thing he needs is a back Vermin King: It´s great to read that my Thri-Kreen guys are on top of the cabinets above your desk attacking the GunCrawl figures. Could you show a picture ??

Sorry, no pics

Chitter is the name of the noise made by insects, isn't it? So chitterlings would translate to something like "cricrilantes" in Portuguese, it should be something similar in Spanish.

I took no offense to anything ya said. I play online mmorpgs and trust me....you need to get used to it. on there as in here its very difficult to portray emotions with just text. Most of us are burning the type along without thinking how it will be interpureted(butchers the word) so im used to it. As for that golem...thats an actual golem from the nwn2 game someone made for it...i just took a screenshot....edited out all the other crud then just shrunk it and so on. I wish i had a back shot...but they move constantly due to animations....almost impossible to get the exact one due to nwn2's random animation generator built in. They never pose exactly twice*usually*. I just wanted to try my hand at a couple to see what ya all thought. im a HUGE fan of the kreen...played 2 in dark sun long ago and i picked up the pdf of the thri-kreen of athas book with thier entire racial mannerisms...lifestyle and biological processes and everything. Its an incredible read and i suggest you grab it if you can find it. heres an online viewable copy danaki.net/downloads/PDF/Darksun%20-%20The%20Thri-Kreen%20of%20Athas.pdf

I hope you can use this Thri-kreen in your games. I thinking in make a special texture base for this guys. After that i´ll start with Thri-kreen archers of course! I am playing a D&D style world and the TKs are an essential part in it. Up to now, they have been just some modified antmen or so. but with your extremely helpful minis we can fight now against the real stuff! Thanks again for your good work, Reivaj.
