If anyone is doing a gangster-era game ... Who was it that was doing that Sin City looking scene with all those stark black-and-white building?

Cherno has posted lots of pictures of his de-saturated versions of model sets.

Dave's latest is 'another' Humvee He also had the Easy-Bild version, but even though there are several Hummers out there, he wanted to do one that isn't easy-bild. It's got lots of optional layer parts, but still a fairly easy to build model

How do the wheel sides hold onto the track surface, there seems to be little left to hold them of the small internal ring.

I've become a big fan of this style of wheels. Very sturdy. Between the inner and outer tread rings, it gives plenty of attachment area, and the wheels are round! I have a feeling for most folks, the Easy-bild's are good enough

Do they (the wheels) form well when made out of thin (ordinary 80gsm) paper?

This set was done with 199 gsm, and I've used 147 gsm. For 80 gsm, I'd laminate the faces and make longer coils to go inside the treads

And it's almost a real mini ... it has a back. Hmmm, the only cut-out that Dave's done with a backside is Elvira. I guess that makes sense

Unrelated to the latest posts o.0
The Supernatural Impala is already scaled at 1/56... I got the dimensions of the real thing so I could rescale it, and it turns out no rescaling was necessary!

The new one is 1/56. He upscaled it a few months ago
He hasn't said, but the T-bird is probably why he enlarged the Impala ... maybe. He said he had a project coming up that when he had it on his shelf next to the Supernatural Impala, the scales were obviously off. The car that was going to be released would be hard to build at its scale, so he enlarged the Chevy
This T-bird would be difficult if it were much smaller

For the uninitiated (like me) what is the difference between Dave's Koolwheelz and his other models?

Dave's 'For Sale' models are very, very detailed, usually with interiors. On a contest once, I won a 1/33 scale P-51D aircraft model. Five pages of instructions and seven pages of parts.
The ones that I've seen built are spectacular, but above my paygrade.
The 1/18 scale Little Willie has 35 pages with detailed instructions and over 900 parts. You can also pick up the steering carriage add-on which has 18 pages of parts and instructions
The Koolwheelz version is one page with 19 parts. Much more the thing

Dave had another batch of models ready for release in December, but put that off until January. But over the holidays, he came up with these. I don't know when they will be released, but they look pretty good.

I probably have built as many of Dave's models as any. He uses no 3d software. He just has an ability that I don't understand. His main business is custom Airbrushing. His artistry really comes out in his models.
I wish he would start releasing the models he previously was ready to release. In that batch he has a Plymouth Prowler, a model that I have seen no other designer doing.
And I want it!

Is it my computer, or did all the images disappear? Oh, well, I did build Little Willie last night Never mind. PostImage is down. Was it about this time the other night when it had issues? And the images are back! Oh, yeah, the Prowlers are up!

I squeezed the parts together so that I could enlarge it by 27%, instead of by 29%. 29% would have been 1/56. Close enough for a proof-of-concept tank that never made it onto a battlefield

I need to give a word of warning on the Prowlers. Not difficult, just tedious. I enlarged by 15% and adjusted the windshield a bit on my build, and added an overlay to give depth to the rear fenders and running boards.

Shouldn't have made it so dark Were you looking to have it pink? Because the color in the picture looks exactly like the color of one we had cruising around Las Vegas. Until it had that unfortunate high speed collision with a Dodge Viper at the intersection of Desert Inn and Buffalo...
