Some of Dave's Advanced models are difficult, unless you look at a build thread. That's one reason why I post build picks when I build a model of his. I have yet to get Deckard's car to look right, which is why I haven't posted photos of it... All of the August models have been released now Since Paul Newman's Porsche, the Johnny Cab, the Red Baron, and the Aston Martin were all models that I either suggested or enthusiastically supported when people suggested them, I'm needing to build a few. The plan is to do one project, then a Koolwheelz, another project, another Koolwheelz, etc When I get the simplified Royal Mail Coach built, I plan on doing the Aston Martin, then if I don't hear anything on the Victorian Buildings, I'm doing a repaint of the Salamander, then Newman's Porsche, and somewhere in there, I hope to get back to the Anheuser-Busch Brew House before Christmas But, you know the Sid Mead Sentinel limo is also calling my name...

Don't tell Dave, but I generally lop off the banners and enlarge them by 10 to 15%. Makes them much easier to build and much closer to rpg scale. I'm not sure what he is working on, but he enlarged the Supernatural Impala because it didn't look right next to this other model. He found out that the Man from UNCLE TV car was designed by Winfield, so he's starting on it, too. He's not happy with it, but ...

Well, for rpg, I shoot for 1/56, and his vehicles are roughly 1/64, so enlarging only makes sense

Yes, I rearranged the DB5 to work on after the Mail Coach, enlarging it by 12%. I wanted to have Sir Thomas Sean Connery as a standee next to the car. So I cropped him from the above photo and shrank him down to 30mm to eye level. When I put him on my page, he looked like one of the little people, not a Scottish Lord. This is the first model of Dave's that I was shooting for rpg scale that had to be reduced. I had to reduce my rearranged enlarged version to 76% to get things close, which I believe is reduced from the original model. I knew the DB5 was small, but I didn't realize it was this small. I guess I'm still learning even at this advanced age.

I enlarged the Sentinel limo by 15%, but it still looks a little small on the page. I'll stick it next to some minis once it's built and see how it scales.

I'm not an idiot, really. But how does Dave do his wheels? There are no tabs?

The treads for each tire are two pieces. There is a tread piece and a glue tab piece. Glue the edge of the tread along the line on the white piece. Loop it together and glue the other end of the tread up against the other tread edge. It helps to pre-shape the pieces into loops first. The tread then gets glued to the back of the tire.
I plan on building the Noodle Truck tonight. It has this style of tire treads. I'll take a photo or two.

Dave just released the Man from U.N.C.L.E. Spy Car, a small curvy model. It's in the Star Carz section

Okay, I knew it was small, but ... In any of the views with people standing next to it, it is only belt high. This really could drive under a semi trailer.

Being on a spy car roll, I'm half tempted to recolor the Jaguar, cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/7901/decompressing, as the Austin Powers Shaguar Yeah, not the same model Jag, different headlights, etc., but could be close enough Change out the wheels, make the interior dark gray (black wouldn't show up well), hmmm

I think Dave's next model is a bit nostalgic. Cardstock is great. Legos are great. But who doesn't like wooden blocks?
Find it in the 'Specialz' section I think it would look great next to a gingerbread house
