Coincidentally, I heard an interview with Syd Mead this morning on NPR, talking about futurist technology from movies that has become reality.
Sadly, no flying car included there.

Looking at these again, I realized how much I like the front bumpers. Not quite such a fan of the rear (tail lights jutting up don't do it for me), but wow those bumpers.

Sorry, but the style is from the movie. other than the 'clear cover' over the lights, he made them as close to the movie as possible for a one-page model.
He has the flying models in his To-Do pile

These look great. What's the scale like on AirDave's cars -- are they all the same scale? (it sort of looks that way)

Hot Wheels sized, which is roughly 1/72. They scale up well

Funny thing is that Dave wasn't very happy with these, but Koolwheelz are supposed to be one-page, fairly simple models of instantly recognizable vehicles (or just vehicles he likes). I think he does a very nice job with them.

BTW, keep your eyes open at Dave's site. The Oscar Meyer Weinermobile (1952 version) is next up.

I've missed a few, but I saw this and had to laugh When they cancelled the Apollo program, they should have thought of this

Why is it that Hot Rods always draw spectators? Shadowolf's Selenites are checking it out, and the rocks are Jesse's from the papercruiser site, printed at two pages per page

Got a contest-specific scale cube, but I understand that he is mailing me the consolation prize. BTW, I didn't get a single vote. The winning entry was one I voted for myself. Six coats of clear coat, then used balsa for floatation and screws for ballast to get it to sit right in the water. Dave's also added two new Easybild's. The Easybild Humvee, Landrover and M113 can be found at davesdesigns.ca/cutandfold/html/promotional_free_paper_models.htmlBTW here's the scale cube with my third Koolwheelz Tardis

Okay, I do these at two pages per page to get in the ballpark of 28mm. Interesting series of models. If I have time, I'll post some repaints next week, but I really need to go back and finish Joan of Arc ...
