I'd love to see a build of the vehicle in the third plate from the second site. As I look at it, I'm not seeing where all the parts are to go...

At first I thought they were too simple, but at tablevision range, I think they'd be fine. Best are the vehicles (and I don't normally like vehicles as flats). These would be really good to introduce smaller kids--you can produce a good number of vehicles quickly.
So much in Russian--the oracles of the hobby gods are telling me to break out my Russian books and relearn.

That's actually a very handsome bird. I wonder if I weighted the front if it would fly ...
If I build this, I'm thickening up the body

Tomoko has a plan. And he follows it consistently over years. He develops his ideas but he doesn't divert from his project. So, after many months of silence (due to other more real obligations , I suppose), he returns, showing the latest evolution of ihis paper figures. Imho his submission is really very interesting ( sadly I can't understand everything, especially the part about the rules ) link: www.forum.ohobby.ru/index.php?topic=389.2610translated link: translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.forum.ohobby.ru%2Findex.php%3Ftopic%3D389.2610&act=urlHis post regards the evolution of his drawing ( of his paper minis) over the years, from 2007 to present. Not stopping on the graphical improvements of designs, but also considering a more realistic figure's pose. Correcting some things and adding the correct dynamism. ... and then adding new poses, and special units, and changing some aspects (now cyborgs are bigger). Precisely a new type of ( paper ) miniatures. In this post ( linked above ) there are some good photos but, in my opinion, not yet fully make the miniatures' top quality. What I really regret is that, with my three translations, I lost the content of this work and its journey. And that with my bad and limited english can't explain the work, the quality and perseverance of this author, as he deserves. Ooops! I nearly forget. On his website there is already a new figures' promotional set. So if anyone is interested can judge for yourself. paperworlds.ru/steel-warriors/steel-warriors-stuff/sw_miniatures/#more-52

Hi Tomoko. Welocome! These photos have great pathos. But even the previews that you have posted on your personal page ( I don't quite understand if it is like a russian facebook, but this: vk.com/sw_battle_for_empire ) are are very beautiful. More!!! This is a mental storm of pleasure for my eyes. ... And how your figures have improved in a few years. From good figures for games to great masterpieces. I am really impressed. I can't wait that you distribute the final sheets but for now thanks very much. Ciao PS: I'm waiting a your reply by e-mail.

Rhannon, I do not have your email address and I have not received any letters You have. You have sent me an email on 22-06-2012 and I replied to you on 23. but there may be some problems: 1- my English is ugly and often there are some misunderstandings. I apologize 2 - Often there are problems with the e-mail addresses between Italy and Russia and some e-mails can not arrive. So I try to send again my e-mail and, to be sure, I will send you a private message in this forum. But first and foremost: Great compliments to you for these three new sheets. Figures are gorgeous, correctly positioned and so full of details. They are really the definitive paper minis for your series And render it great honor. Bravo again. Thank you very much for having shared with us the new sheets. I saw them, this last night, on russian forums and your site, but It is very generous that you share with us directly. Thanks. Ciao Giorgio

the excellent project of the great guy Tomoko continues. With the right time given from a real life. So... some previews for the two main factions. Imho very good figures. Are they a bit undervalued?

These are great! Is this a commercial project? I'd love to pick these up. No, Eric. For now it is a free, personal, very big project. It started a few years ago. With some revisions and a lot of changes and improvements over time ( I speak about paper minis because I love them but also vehicles are greatly improved. They, from two-dimensional form, for a classic wargame, have become totally 3D ) Above there are all the images and links. Only one thing I do not understand. Because the files are a bit small (rather than like those of distrigillator. Another great project )

Another little preview: Imho the dynamism of these figures is exceptional. And the overall quality is such that, imho, that with some minor modifications to layout ( cover, bases, instructions ... ) these would be a very good commercial product.

New pics from Tomoko's blog ( vk.com/sw_battle_for_empire ): two snipers and a light flamethrower Their special weapons. Sniper rifle "Black Hand" and light flamethrower [edit].. So the first new set ( steel troopers ) is almost ready. Twenty figures are ready and and eleven figures to finish. ( see pic ) After the completion of the basic infantry sets ( I suppouse two ) Tomoko resume his work on 3D vehicles. tomoko: In the final preview of this set there is not the sniper on knee. Why?

Sniper on the knee will be! I'll return it back. So I'm going to prepare the new promotional materials, that you were not so painfully expected to release a full album with pictures and descriptions Thank you for reposting, Giorgio!

... Thank you for reposting, Giorgio! It is a pleasure for me. But if and when this became a problem (my Russian-English-Italian makes me lose a lot of information and understand other bad) you tell me and I'll stop. You and Alex are my favorite paper minis' european authors. You for sci-fi and he for fantasy. Evolution of your design, figures' dynamics, a very deep background in both cases ( in this case, unfortunately, I don't understand much ) but especially an overall originality ( sotry, figures ... ) which is awesome imho. Ciao and thanks very much for your works.

Now I had several hours for examine carefully the first two new minis' sets ( 5th anniversary series ). I had the opportunity to see 4 jpg format, high-quality ( about 2,2/2,6 MB each ) files with the first 64 new paper minis. 32 former imperial infantry "Keno" fanatics, and 32 "Lianry" motorized infantry division men. I hope I have translated well. Or at least with few errors. Because these figures have their own history, they have their own world and their exact name. Some of the previous minis are still missing. But I suppose that they are special forces, while these figures represent the first 64 basic infantry minid of two factions. These figures, what I've seen, are really gorgeous. Poses, the dynamism's movements, details, colors ... Everything is at the highest level. Unfortunately, the few photos that I can put here, can't make the overall quality of this ongoing project. But probably they can serve as clues. I don't know what is written, but in every case the quality of detail, for a28/32 mm. figure, is this: Figures' fluidity and movement from the second set ( the former imperial infantry ): The next step of the project will focus on 3D vehicles.

...I don't know what is written... As far as I remember from my Russian lessons: First picture (kinda poster?): "Steel Warriors", could be also translated as "Steel Fighters" "Battle for Empire" "5 years on the battlefield" On other pictures/previews there is simply "Not for printing!" written on footers.
