I feel your pain, Deathdragon! I know how frustrating that can be. For me, I am lucky, because I can back my stuff up on 3.5" floppies (yes, I am SEVERELY Old School)! I hope you get your files back! Best of luck...

3.5" floppies!
Can you still buy those? Are you putting one mini on each disk? ;D

DUDE!
For the price you spend on 3.5 Floppies you can get a whole year of carbonite.com and have everything backed up in 'the cloud'
$55 a years is WAY worth it!

Ok... you forget who you are talking to! I am both CHEAP and "OLD SCHOOL." I got a BUNCH of 3.5 diskettes (some people here are like, "What are THOSE?") at a Yard Sale last summer... brand new in the celophane... 250 for a buck! Sure. My CD/DVD ROM works on Tuesdays, and the rest of the time it freezes up... but the A:/ Drive hasn't failed me yet! [Knocking on wood, vinyl and ANY surfaces I can find...] WHEN it DOES work, I can back my stuff up on CD, or on my USB drive (which fills up VERY quickly)... Well, sure they are DD (Double Density), and I can only get SO much on the disks... but they are easy to manage! I want an Onager... grab the disk marked Onager, and there we go. Ok... crawling back under my rock now...

I just bought a 2 terabyte external drive today. I'm going to back up my whole hard drive, as it's getting a little "hinky". I may use the left over space to back up the Library of Congress.

I just bought a 2 terabyte external drive today. Jeeminy!!! How much does something like that cost? With all the graphics work you do, I suppose you need a lot more than I do. Wow

Wow They're not too bad. About $99 for 2 TB, $79 for 1 TB and $50 for 500GB. So I just went for the 2 TB one. I shouldn't be spending that much, but some data you just don't want to lose and I'm sick of backing up with 15 DVDs. All those DVD start to add up after a while too.

Keep me posted, please.

sorry guys, I got caught in some qld flood IT re-routing that was required to keep some operational systems running over the past 2 weeks.
Things are getting back to normal (at least IT telecommunications wise) so Ill get these out asap.
Just glad I wasn't affected directly by the flooding

I haven't heard anything on the news for about a week. Are things getting any better?

It's not been long since we were concerned about Australian posters caught up in the fires.
