Don't know if we publicize Kickstarters on here, or if this has been mentioned before, but;

Mantic are doing (another) kickstarter to produce a second edition of their popular fantasy wargame.

Its already funded and stretch goals now go to produce a new Abyssal army and fill in the gaps in existing armies. There is also talk of a global campaign to rewrite the map.

There is at least a bit of a Cardboard Warriors connection, as i know at least one member has produced Card KoW armies, and very nice they looked too.

These are good wargame rules. I Dl'd the first edition as they were free, which convinced me to further support them and buy the hardcover, which had more good stuff in it. I really enjoy this company's attitude and direction.

I'll add to squirmydad's sentiment. This game truly is a good one to play. It is what Bellicose 2nd Edition should have been. labrat and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. One of these days I'll put up the trays I've made for the game...

Since I said I would (and someone mentioned they couldn't find movement trays) I've uploaded a few modifications to the One Monk trays. I completely forgot about this thread but it's better late then never. Be warned they are large files since they have multiple layers.

20mm - 10 x 4 Formation (56MB)
25mm - 5 x 4 Formation (51MB)
25mm - 10 x 4 Formation (25MB)

Also of note: the 2nd Edition rules are online

I thought as an anniversary gift I would post some other trays I've made for KoW (actually it was just coincidence I post this on the same day but we can say it's planned).

20mm - 2 x 6 Formation (31MB) (Large Infantry Regiment)
20mm - 4 x 6 Formation (44MB) (Large Infantry Horde)
50mm - 2 x 3 Formation (24MB) (Large Cavalry Horde)

I would like to get my fantasy troops back in action so I will probably buy the hard cover and try to find someone locally who wants to give it a try. Squirmydad made me some nice movement trays that need to get on the battlefield.

I also Dl'd the 1st ed. KoW rules for free and played Warpath, the Mantic Games science fiction game with squirmydad.

Funny you mention that. The Salamander Army is what my wife chose this time and I didn't have anything made yet to represent her units so I had to do a bit of modeling before we could play (I didn't want to proxy EVERYTHING from her list):


It would be sweet to find an Ankylodon Battle Platform or Ancients on Rhinosaurs...

I need to dig mine out again but I used a dollar store dino for my ankylo-battle platform. I think a bigger version of FDG's Dragon Turtle model with a howdah would be a good kit-bash project.
