Cardboard Warriors Forums Common Project
Norde Dwarven Chariot
This thread and project inspired by afet 's thread Dwarves riding goats and posts by Cardstock Dane , arcticdragongames and Vermin King.
What if we could together assemble and/or kitbash our Cardboard Warriors version of Dwarven Chariot driven by rams, goats (or whatever creature but pink pony:)
Anyway so here's my contribution - charging ram, which might be used as "classic" Battle Ram but also as a "steed" for chariot.
These are not perfectly finished versions and couple of ideas are still in developing, but it can give you some impression.
As most parts of drawing are placed on individual layers some changes might be applied:
It's of course possible to convert this ram into version with distinct A and B sides and even 2.5D.
Then some accessories like saddle-cloth or some armour could be added.
Still for this project I'd rather stick with simplified version - as shown at previous previews,
so it can be changed, modified and coloured and textured easily (even with crayons:)
Then I'm pretty sure that most of you are skilled enough to do some more advanced kitbashing in Photoshop or Gimp:)
I wanted this ram to be very dynamic...
Hmm... this could be also nice - and here looks kinda "demonic"!
Some quick attempt for a full version with chariot. I've used here some of my PERMES "parts":
-dwarven rifleman (just as a test and sample)
-simple wooden cart
BTW this cart was published here at CWF as a FREE mini-set (KFD-FREE05 Medieval Cart) somewhere in 2012,
so you can browse through some mine old threads - PDF should be still available.
What NEXT:
Firstly - let me know your impressions and thoughts regarding such common project (perhaps nobody's interested?) and then showed respective components/parts.
Secondly - assuming that there will be some positive feedback I intend to post:
All these components could be posted as both JPG and TIFF hi-res versions (for those who might want to take a challenge and do brand new colouring and texturing:) - as a FREE for non-commercial use (some credits would be always appreciated though;).
So you will have most of the components needed to assemble your own chart - then only riders (dwarves!) would be missing.
(But of course you can get some of PERMES minis from RPGnow or WargameVault)
Of course nothing would stop for using any other minis available for you or your own components and mix these according to your ideas and needs.
Actually it would be a lot of fun (and perhaps some good practice for CWF members and readers as well) to see your finished, modified chariots.
You could post these in this thread as ready for download PDF (or any other reasonable format) for other members, and/or post some pictures of your versions!
So... everybody is welcome to join!!!

Firstly - let me know your impressions and thoughts regarding such common project (perhaps nobody's interested?) and then showed respective components/parts.
Secondly - assuming that there will be some positive feedback I intend to post:
- one of these rams (most probably version like at preview 1) in both finished (ie fully coloured) version and perhaps as pure line-art
- simple/basic wooden cart (OK, wheels can be added as a separate layers for those who would like to modify or make it 2.5D:)
- some basic additional stuff like:
-grounds (like rock, sand and grass)
-some premade tabs
- short instruction how to scale these minis (as original line-art is quite big and needs to be down-scaled)
All these components could be posted as both JPG and TIFF hi-res versions (for those who might want to take a challenge and do brand new colouring and texturing:) - as a FREE for non-commercial use (some credits would be always appreciated though;).
