The theme for this month's HOARD is  VSF and Steampunk This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of July, 2017. Maybe I'll actually get that Steam Carriage done ... Actually, the Filefish Flyer is closer to completion. Early flyers, steam everything, gears, clanks, mechanical men (or women), inventors and, of course the drudges who keep things oiled, stoked and ticking away. Have fun |

On the three-wheeler above, I can't picture how you steer the thing. The boiler's in the way. So I was looking for other early steamers, and found an interesting site. I'm officially late! And while I was working on the steering contraption and finding various governors, gauges, valves and flywheels, I got sidetracked. Besides the Ashbrooke-Stein version, I have a blue and black version, maroon and black version, and a Jameson Irish Whiskey version, now...
I have no doubt my son gave my new grandson the middle name Jameson in honor of the Irish Whiskey ...

Well, the steam carriage is buildable, but I'd prefer to make adjustments to the parts before releasing it. Shall we close this or leave it open until after the weekend?

I'm fine with that. In doing the test build, I found that there are parts that were too fiddly, and some needed enlargement to allow for paper thickness. My steering mechanism involved making holes in the footrest for it to go through, I'm going to change it to two segments that have the appearance of going through. I'm also changing the boiler box to ease construction. I'm fixing the files at lunch today and printing off for a test build tonight.
There have been other Hoards with only one contributor. Consider it being in the spotlight
