Thanks Dominic, it was mostly following your "Death of Rats" and watching your perchten video that had them in mind at this usefully early date. Without watching your Christmas video at Halloween I would never be thinking about perchten in November. Edit: So, why isn't this tagging @dominic?

It's like me and Squirmydad, you have to use the actual forum id, not what he goes by. Try Dominic -- satrek

cowboyleland: that is great! I will definitely try to unleash them on some unexpecting travellers, I mean, players at some point! As for the name, I changed it from nickname to my actual name recently, seeing how I do most of what I do using that rather than the old nickname. I did not realize that it made things trickier...

So here they are Some funny stuff happened to the darkest ones when I tried to lighten them up. There are a lot more pictures on the internet but they are mostly just of the faces or heads. In theory I could put different faces on these bodies, or mirrors of these bodies, but I think we have enough for now. I might just come up with a St Nick to keep them in line before the month is out. But maybe not.

Not much time left. As squirmydad explained in another thread, he is going to have a hard time compiling things for a while. Do we have any volunteers?

I wish I could pitch in, but this is not really something I am good at - nor do I have the time to spare to commit, and false hope is one of those presents I do not like to give. Just like my thing that I started for the last hoard will not make it into this one, either. So... The December hoard is definitely aptly named...

I understand. I don't have a cutter, so I don't have a clue about cutter-files, though I do have a template for keeping my files in the designated area. So I have a lot of areas that keep me from getting things formatted

I hope everyone is patient on this, and... still looking for some assistance. I have neither printer not cutter, so any help I could offer is of a limited character. If there is something I can assist with, I am ready to try.

I appreciate that. I can put stuff on pages so that it should be easy to do cutfiles. I can build things and do a promo photo. Generating cutfiles is totally beyond me

Unless you would want to do the Holiday Velociraptors. They shouldn't be too much trouble. I was showing some kids at church tonight the velociraptors, and they want them. I doubt there is much of a need for Ice Raptors, though. I really did them as a little joke
Even though I used the cutter area map when I designed the bears, they look like they are pushing the boundaries. If you need them re-formatted, let me know.
I greatly appreciate the help with this. I'm going to print up these items and put them together tonight for a promo shot, but I will hold off on the photo until I hear about the Raptors

I checked the bears against the cutter-friendly template, and they seem to be good, but sort of close to the edges. But in the area. Hey, squirmydad, I'm going to print these up and get them built tomorrow. I was thinking of doing the photo with a transparent background, if you can drop it on your standard background. Does that work? EDIT-- Here's the velociraptors, if you feel like doing the cutfiles. These are quick to cut out, so if you don't want to do the file, folks can just print from the png And I am not sure that it requires instructions, but I added the instructions for the not-cyberman

I've got draft cutfiles for P1,2, and 4 - will cut in the morning.
Are the strong blue lines on P3 on purpose? They sure look like they will interfere with the quality of the output.

Because they are on corners, they don't show badly, but I will tone them down and repost. I won't change layout at all.

well, since I see a .studio3 file for page 4, I will need to do some velociraptors and I will take the photos. I have new neighbors, and they were wanting to know about my family. While showing grandkid photos, they saw some of the card models and so I have been bringing stuff out for them to look at all afternoon, and doing repairs.
I should have the photos tonight. I'll do three and you can use whichever one you like best. I'm tempted to have the ice spires in the background, but I will control that impulse

Well, I finally printed the dinos. Since I always get a thin line of offset when I mirror print the pdf, and since I failed at trying to get the offset fixed by changing settings, I decided to do a test. I decided to try mirror printing from the png. Nope, the offset was farther off. Next test was to mirror and print from Gimp. Oddly enough, side-to-side was much better, but top to bottom was WAY off. I don't understand that one at all. So, I went ahead and printed off mirror from pdf, which leaves the inside 'muddy', but it's the inside, so not that big a deal.
Next time I need to do a mirror print, I'm going to have to try to do the whole thing from Gimp, as another test. I'm thinking that Gimp printing negates borders. So, if that is true, the top/bottom shouldn't have an offset, and I'll just have to see how the left/right offset compares.
Yes, when I am tired, I am easily distracted. I was also contemplating the meaning of life, but I will spare you the details

Well, in showing projects to the neighbors, I found many of my models were in need of repair (blasted cats), and ended up spending my night doing repair work.
The dinos and photos may get done tonight, but certainly by tomorrow

Over lunch I built one of the dinos, so I should be able to have an efficient day today.
Work during work hours, meet with clients after work and still get this done today.
At least it is looking hopeful

Looks good, but a front view of the 'not-cyberman' would be helpful
What are your thoughts on the 'Kami-Kami' styled velociraptors? I personally find them easy to build and have a more 3d feel to them. But you are only the third person, other than myself, that I know has built them, so I just wanted to hear an honest opinion. Many of the dinos I built from the Kami-Kami site are somewhat lacking for graphics. At some point, I'd like to do more 'realistic' ones, but I doubt very many folks would have a use for them

Looks good, but a front view of the 'not-cyberman' would be helpful I wasn't intending on using those photos for anything other than my personal promotional work. They are not intended to replace the typical official image. :-) What are your thoughts on the 'Kami-Kami' styled velociraptors? I personally find them easy to build and have a more 3d feel to them. But you are only the third person, other than myself, that I know has built them, so I just wanted to hear an honest opinion. Many of the dinos I built from the Kami-Kami site are somewhat lacking for graphics. At some point, I'd like to do more 'realistic' ones, but I doubt very many folks would have a use for them Because of the xmas styling, I don't think I'll ever use these as is. :-) That said, they were easy to build (I inked the underside with a grey-blue tombo #526). If I made them for my use, I'd change the basing so that I could store them fold-flat and "unfold" them into a base that uses friction to hold the tabs. They look pretty great, and rescaled they might be a way to add more dinosaurs to the current Chut-based campaign season.

Using three layers of card for the base, with cutouts in the middle layer to allow the tabs to slide in, should work for fold-flat storage. No time for a month or so, but I might revisit, cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/8084/zoes-prehistoric-christmas, with decent-looking dinos with fold-flat storage as the goal. I don't see much of a need for dinos, though

It is quite obvious that my camera is not going to do well on this. I've tried to make this more vibrant with Gimp, but though they look fine in real life, my camera is washing out the colors. Too much white? I don't know. Maybe it's the combination of so much dark and so much white. This was the best I achieved Ain't that the worst promo shot ever? Unless someone else wants to give it a go, I'm afraid it is going to have to do
