The idea should work fine. I share your reservations about the playability of full height walls, but I am not everybody. I am sure you could sell a few copies.
On the other hand, maybe it's the herd that is crazy.
Well, walls of any kind really (I'll probably be using them for making building interiors myself - maybe just a few walls like the example above, and the rest being regular 2.5D tiles for the sake of playability).
This kinda thing (but for inns, taverns, cottages, etc. - rather than 'dungeons'):
But yeah, the idea is that you'd only need to make a couple of the new pieces, and then just swap a window panel for a door panel and so on - to make different building layouts.
I have always liked the concept of backdrops for one wall or part of a wall because it gives you more of a 'feel' for where you are at. My question is whether the concept would stand up if you were to leave off the top bars. I think you would need to buttress the back side of the posts. Then the pieces could be totally removed if they get in the way of play. Also, how would this work for double wide pieces? With those you wouldn't need as many posts. You definitely have my mind turning on this concept
There are no strangers in this world, only people I haven't embarrassed ... yet!
My question is whether the concept would stand up if you were to leave off the top bars.
I think they'd be way to fragile - as the only (hot)glue point is the bottom of the vertical beams ...so it would just be a thin bit of cardboard sticking up in the air.
I suppose you could reverse it (so that the stone part in my example was part of the outer slot ...but that leaves you with the problem of how to add doors).

Nice thatched roof texture. I had to scratch build something similar for the roofs of my Rorkes Drift buildings. I rolled and shaped the roof ridge around a pen to get the shape but my roof was all one piece, I didn't think to do it as a separate element!
I've learned a host of techniques from your print and paste tutorials.
Yeah, I kinda did TBH ...as my aim is to make a few little one-shot encounters (in a box ) that I can simply pull from my shelf and run at a moments notice (like if only half the group turn up, or the regular DM has to drop out last minute, etc.).
Yeah. I think it's going to be a while before I can complete a whole sentence without a major coughing fit (which means I can't really run my online game at the moment ) - but I'm up and about, and able to look after myself again ...and more importantly ...I've started 'crafting' again (so it could have been much, much worse).

Cardstock Dane: ForestB, Tell me about it! I had big problems last year, loads of under extrusion, which I couldn't understand - until I realized, that the new filament I had bought needed a lower nozzle temp.

ForestB: Cardstock Dane, don't mention those evil devices! Spent two 'fun' hours last night unclogging a heat break tube (the nozzle was a lost cause and replaced). Stupid bowden tube slipped and molten plastic spilled up into the heat break tube and congealed.

Cardstock Dane: Good to see that this place is still going strong! I don't drop by as often after I got a 3D printer, but 3D or not, this place is still an important resource for my campaigns.

Vermin King: There evidently was a feasibility study about a decade ago about a water pipeline from the Great Lakes to the Southwest states. I believe that water would have been even more expensive than bottled water

Vermin King: At least we aren't that buried in snow. Pavement is mostly clear and dry now. We are only getting down to +9F tonight and by Thursday we will be back to 58.
