I wasn't very far into this when I realized other vehicles would accept 'Spinner' treatment better. The front glass is too steep and the peak of the roof is too far forward. I had already went to the sleeker version of the OH model on this, but even back on the 16th, I was toying with the idea of taking the side glass portions and using skew to shift the roof peak back a bit. I even played with the idea of flipping the top of the model and turning the roof and bed cover into the windshield and roof. That seemed a bit drastic. I think tonight I want to try the skew idea. Would it still be a Cybertruck in Spinner livery? Not really. But it should look much better.
EDIT --
At some point, I probably should have started a new thread under VK's projects ...

Yeah, I am pretty sure the Cybertruck Sport would make a better Spinner I turned my first redesign (still had the lower roof) on its side. Cut out the side of the vehicle and rotated it to where the crease was horizontal, then used the shear tool to move the roof peak back. Measured the length of the back edge of the side and shrank the back panel so that the edge would match. Did the same for the front. Slid it all back together and then had to work on the side glass to make it look 'right'. Well, 'rightish' I personally think this looks more like something I would want to own EDIT -- Old Spinnertruck Spinnertruck Sport Yes, still have to decide on the front end, but this looks a lot more promising to me

Modifying Punkrabbitt's idea to the new dimensions, I came up with this today Hope to have time to build it tonight. Or I might take time to modify the Cybertruck Sport to have a vault. EDIT -- I pulled up the Cybertruck Sport model just to see what adjustments would need to be done to have a vault/bed. If you remember, all I did was skew the roof peak further back on the vehicle. Everything below the shoulder is the same, so even though the bed cover is shorter, the bed is the same size. The cabin wall and the top of the sides would need to be changed. Here's the part that surprised me. This modification would actually result in more rear seat head room. I just thought that interesting

I can't believe my plan worked. I actually contributed something useful to this project!

When I build the Cybertruck Sport, it is going to be fully decked out. Vault, recessed side glass, body side moulding, and bumpers. Of course, I will also keep the EZ Bild version in the thread here for those who prefer

Only, some time during the process, I lost my rework of the vault/bed cover. The one on the posted models has my intermediate part with correct dimensions, but not the 'clean' version. This is a bit sloppy looking, but you can only see it when you look closely. At arm's length, they look like a printer issue, but I know it is in the file, so I will be cleaning those up.
I had thought I would work on the Cybertruck Sport Deluxe over lunch, but I doubt I will get to it.
EDIT --
I thought I had done my redesign on the cover and carried it over to my other models. Evidently not. I did it for the Fold-Up Toys version and have it on the Independence Police version, but not the others. It should be easy to fix the files from the police version

So, if you had a Tesla car and it was stolen. Would it called an Edison?

But Tesla was employed by Edison when he did his innovations ... until he went out on his own Here's the collection so far Fold-Up Toys Redesign Fold-Up Toys Holiday My version of the Cybertruck with and without the bed cover option Independence Police Cybertruck Sport Spinnertruck Sport Cybertruck Spinner EDIT -- I suppose I should do build photos of the Police and Sport versions. I really wanted to hold off on the Sport version until I could do a deluxe version EDIT #2 -- Since my brain isn't wrapping itself well to the inside dimensions of the Sport, I printed off the EZ-Bild version. Since the vault goes vertically up in the rectangle area, I need to get a better guess on where the side of the box needs to extend upwards. I plan on having the front of the box go vertically to just below the window and then have the window angle back slightly. Not as straight-forward as on the original Cybertruck. Also printed off the police version. I'll build its bed and place in the Sport to see what adjustments are necessary. I don't think it would look as good, but I might as well finish my standard cybertruck spinner, too. It would be nice to see the difference EDIT #3 -- On these, I have either had straight tabs (that I trim) or tapered tabs along the windshields to fit in the little pointy section of the side glass pieces. It hit me how difficult it is to get a smooth line on a narrow tapering tab, and decided that a standard tab with a fold line would be much easier to manage. Changed the sport versions above and I also added the Cybertruck Spinner (not built). Tonight I will finish building the EZ-Bild Cybertruck Sport (only with the optional 3d wheels) and change those tabs on my straight Cybertruck files.

I can now see what changes need to be made to the vault for the Sport version. I still can't stop thinking about how that little change drastically improves the look of the vehicle, yet keeps front passenger head room the same, increases the rear seat head room, and yet keeps the basic bed the same size. Hmmm. But it looks less like a truck and more like glennwilliams's El Camino And I can still use the box for the Police Cybertruck

I like that color scheme much better than the original silver.

I originally considered the Cybertruck and its offshoots as something to do for the Cyber Hoard. But instead of that I did the Cybertruck Gallardo hybrid. So what do I do with these? Hopefully squirmydad will drop them in VK Labs. Here's a family portrait and the files

Well, it took quite a while (considering what an uproar this thing was making), but someone finally made a model of this that is better than mine. Of course it is a whole lot bigger at 1/24 But it doesn't have an opening vault, but you could take mine and adapt it to this model. You can find it at tektonten.blogspot.com/2020/07/tesla-cybertruck-papercraft.html

Took another look at this last night. Each wheel has ten parts for all you folks that hate building wheels. I really like the wheel well shrouds and the bumpers and the inset side glass. There is a lot to like with this guy, if you wanted to build a great model of the vehicle. Only he confuses me why, when you are doing such a great job, with the trapezoidal 'grill' and all the other things that are done well, why would you not angle the top edges of the front corners upward? This leaves a seam across the headlights that is totally unnecessary. I want to go into this and fix it, but I really don't want to have a giant 1/24 model of the Cybertruck. And I don't think I could build it at 1/53
