Please see the this thread for resources and instructions on how to create a submission for this project. If you would like to share your cool staircase with the world, please feel free to post it here. By doing this you specifically agree to put it into the public domain - allowing anyone (specifically me) to republish it. If you don't want it public, see the instructions at the link above for submitting it to me privately instead of posting it here. Posting your staircase here is a wonderful sharing gesture. Thank you from the whole community of papercraft terrain builders! NOTE: I intend to keep this archive thread active as long as there is a Cardboard Warriors - so please keep contributing designs, even after the project is formally complete. This will also be good place to share the textures that don't make it into the project - there are restrictions as to what goes in, such as the number of submissions from a single publisher. This is a great place if you go nuts and create more staircases than will be in the sampler.

ok so textures.... I have a huge texture folder that i use outside of my ref images it's probably taking up the most space on my computer. I start with a base texture then start adding layers and colors to get and image the way I want

aaron: I like the graffiti. (I guess it might be "graffito" in this case, but that sounds pompous, even to me!)

Are there any certain textures you want in general?

Are there any certain textures you want in general? Nope! I'd suggest that you do something in your own style - and that seems to be hand-painted cartoon - which would be.... AWESOME. Any genre, any theme, any style.

I've been sick since returning from Austin next week, but I couldn't resist starting to print your submissions. This project is pretty amazing and I look forward to the work of you all! Here's some photos of a set of textures for "Two in One" that were submitted by mproteau (Paper Realms). Single sheet. No Glue. Print & Cut and & Fold & Use... Here I show it in place with Terraclips tiles: Designer staircase sampler by Oracle Omega, on Flickr Designer staircase sampler by Oracle Omega, on Flickr

So - I went to my D&D Encounters at my FLGS last night. Because the season is about to change, and there is uncertainty if the rest of the group was going to continue on a different day of the week, I decided to write myself out of the campaign I was playing in (in a dramatic fashion.) I wanted to give the other players a little something to remember me by. They all know I'm a papercraft terrain guy, so I gave them each (including the DM) a prototype/test build of a Staircase from this set. What I didn't expect was that the DM would put them to immediate use in an encounter as a makeshift set of ruined buildings along the road. It was surprisingly effective.

Cool! Brave Adventures submitted a staircase design I loved so much I added a new model to the kit. See this thread. Here's pictures of the two versions of this model - the smaller one that is on the "Two in One" page, and the taller one, on the new "Landing with Door" template! Of course, all the minis are from Brave AdventuresDesigner Staircase, prototype of design by Brave Adventures by Oracle Omega, on Flickr Designer Staircase, prototype of design by Brave Adventures by Oracle Omega, on Flickr Designer Staircase, prototype of design by Brave Adventures by Oracle Omega, on Flickr This larger model really would like a background sheet, so I'm providing one. :-) Designer Staircase, prototype of design by Brave Adventures by Oracle Omega, on Flickr This is the smaller - no doorway and small floor version. Same stair treads. Designer Staircase, prototype of design by Brave Adventures by Oracle Omega, on Flickr I'm so looking forward to the other submissions that are in progress.

Here's some teaser pictures of the Infinite Staircase prototypes for all of these models in live play! The Infinite Staircase: Stairs of Desolation by Oracle Omega, on Flickr The Infinite Staircase: Stairs of Desolation by Oracle Omega, on Flickr The Infinite Staircase: Stairs of Desolation by Oracle Omega, on Flickr So many wonderful models in this encounter! Stuff from bravesirkevin, BSGTony (lordzsezse), fatdragontom, BilliamBabble Inked Adventures, WorldWorksGames, and Propz Dungeon Features (great reusable staircases!) With a notable Botanimoth figure by @dungeoncrawler : Infininte Staircase: The Ivy Base by Oracle Omega, on Flickr Return of the Titans: The Infinite Staircase by Oracle Omega, on Flickr I'm really looking forward to adding more textures to the Designer Staircase Sampler! Some of you are very close to finished! Let me know how I can help! Who will be next?

When it comes to small amounts of steps, I'm a lot less fussy when it comes to lining them up to to the 1inch grid. I find 1/2 inch to be a little precarious for figure bases. Also aesthetics sometmes wins through. So here you'll find that I've averaged out the step at five within a 15ft /3sq length. I hadn't quite realised here that although the platforms line up to the grid, that every step was supposed to as well. At least I think that's what OldSchoolDM might have been saying to me on Facebook. Anyhow. I think it sort of works okay. OldSchoolDM might tweak it a little - just explaining in case you find two different versions here.

There will be two versions in the kit, with one that aligns to the 1" grid. The .5" steps are OK because the figures fit underneath the staircase above and end up centering on the stair tread (check out all the photos above on this thread. :-D ) The diversity of styles in this kit will be unprecedented for terrain (but not for minis(!) that distinction goes to our very own Hordes wrangled by squirmydad!) More photos soon. Which of you designers will be next for the Designer Staircase Sampler?

Sorry no pictures for a while, I've been a little distracted with work (YAY!) and being sick (BOO!)... Way back when I started this little project, I got permission to kitbash some of Christopher Roe's techie textures onto the spiral staircase - but quickly got stuck with things being too dark and me having near 0 skill with Photoshop/Gimp/Etc. Anyway - for other reasons I needed to make some Serenity Crew figures and I *always* like to have a nice background for my build shots. Solved two problems at the same time my resuming work on the staircase (for now, just jacking up the brightness and contrast) so I'd have an appropriate backdrop (and another encouragement for anyone planning on making a 'case.) Enuff chatter - The Photos!
