Hi.
I was wondering, have you considered producing horror minis for the D&D world? I think you are uniquely qualified to do minis for many of the humanoid nasties in the 4E Monster Manuals: -Abomination -Bodak -Boneclaw -Choker -Devourer -Foulspawn -Ghoul -Sorrowsworn
Cheers,

Afet, The quick and easy way is to simply print them normally with their red robes, and then use the lightest blue Crayola marker to go over the red, it turns the robes purple and leaves the shading fairly intact. Black trim can be done with a fine point Sharpie. Good Luck, Dryw the Harper Great idea! Thanks.

Hi, Drw. I'm glad to hear that you're doing okay. You just can't trust those darn players. I have to say, kudos for not railroading them into making the choices you wanted, even though it means doing a lot more work. I'll see if I can recolor the evil cultist's robes. Cheers,

Hi, Dryw. We haven't heard from you in a while. I hope you're well. I was thinking that I would be cool to have some evil monks. Here I'm thinking of the Church of Shar in the 4E Forgotten Realms. I picture these monks as both the ascetic, robed variety and the bald, martial arts types. All would be dressed in principally purple and black. Shadovar would be neat as well, with shining eyes and surrounded in a grey, swirling mist of shadow. Just ideas, if you're looking for inspiration. Thanks for all the fantastic figures you've already given us. Cheers,

Hi, Dryw.
I just tried a few prints of Imperfect Adventurers 3. They all came out kind of reddish and dark. So I had a look at the actual pdf and it too is somewhat dark and reddish. Is the original like this? If not, maybe you could rescan it. Otherwise, I'll see if I can play with the color and contrast a bit in Adobe.
cheers,

Dryw, you are astoundingly productive Do you realize that you have produced over 500 unique NPC minis? You have made a marvelous contribution to gaming. This is yet another beautiful, whimsical and useful set of minis. Cheers,

Afet, the set I'd suggest is the microlite 20 game Where No Man Has Gone Before. 69.51.142.222/trek/I'm running it and it's good fun, even for people who have played role playing games for over 25-30 years. David Thanks. I´ll a look into this. He´s quite young (18yrs), so he may be more into playing something less campy. But we´ll see. Any other suggestions?

Hello, all.
David, I hope you won´t mind if I hijack this thread to ask a question.
I have a young friend who would like to try his hand at DMing. He is currently part of my D&D 4E campaign, but since he´s into Star Trek, I suggested he might want to try something in that universe.
Can anyone suggest a rule set for a Star Trek rpg? Since he´s a first time DM, I think it would be better if he had a relatively low crunch rule set. My only experience with sci-fi rpgs is Classic Traveller. Suggestions?
Cheers,

Nice scenery, Afet. I would have been right in there with your paranoid players. Speaking of PCs, are those minis 25mm? They look very small compared to the backdrop. Yup, they're Reaper Minis on 25mm bases. The gargoyles and the room itself are huge. Cheers,

This is beautiful, Dave. I love the overhangs with the bracing. I don't know if it's true, but someone once told me that houses of the Tudor era had multiple overhangs on the upper floors as a way of cheating property tax laws, which were based a building's ground floor footprint.
Cheers,

Hi, all. I thought I'd post some pics of one of the sets for today's game, in which I used and the Stone Golom from Monstrous Golems set. The dungeon set pieces are by FDG This was a fun encounter. When the players entered the room they focused on the gargoyles, of course, and assumed that they would come to life. But the gargoyles were just statues. The real surprise came when they went to check out the dais. As they were about to step onto it, it began to move with much rumbling and grinding of stone and transformed into a stone golem, which was protecting the entrance to the stairway beneath it. Enjoy.

I like the idea of a denisens of the dockyards set: - dock workers carrying crates and bales - disreputable looking sailers - "foreign" sailers (Turks, Numidians, Cathayans, etc.) - grizzled old sailers - sleezy merchant - working women - fish mongers

Currently working on a Thieves' Guild set, which will include: Kracker - a Gnome Safecracker Digger - a Dwarf Breaking and Entering Specialist Ale-Ice - a Female Dwarven Rouge Snippit - a Halfling Cutpurse Thwok - a Half-Orc Thug-Enforcer Jade - an Elven Jewel Thief Bauble - a Female Human "Distraction," Con Artist, and Pickpocket Whizzer - a Human Thief-Mage Edge - a Human Knife Specialist Regal - a Human Guildmaster (Quite a few "short people" and a Half-Orc for people to enjoy) When these are done I'll try sketching some Lizard-Men but I fear they will be no better than my attempt at Dragon-Born. Just not good at monsters. Dryw the Harper These sound like great fun, Dryw. I can't wait to see them. ;D

Nice crenellations. I didn't put shutters on any of my towers, I think I will now though, it's a good look. Yes, I think the shutters bring it life a bit.

Here are my requests. Do you think you can make halflings? I saw one in the forums but wasnt impressed. Jim has a female halfling rogue in his Heroes set. I agree that halflings and gnomes are a rarity. And when they do appear, the halflings look pudgy, hairy footed and Tolkienesque while the gnomes look like lawn ornaments. Jims Ogre Warband would work well for hill giants and cave giants. Just blow them up a titch. There is a half-orc in Jim's Goblinoid Monsters set Dryw has done several dwarfs. Check out his Imperfect Adventurers sets. Jim has an entire band of cave Trolls in his Warband section. Cheers,

Built a small number of Knight's Horses tonight. Modified the Captain, Sargent, and a few of the Soldiers from Imperfect Soldiers 2 (the more "evil-looking" Soldier set) into cavalry. They came out really well. They'll be used in tomorrow night's game. Thanks once again for the wonderful horses. ;D Dryw the Harper Do we get to see some pictures?
