That's so awesome! One of my favorite things about my hobbies is my chance to share them with my kids and use them to spend time together. Years from now your son will remember making models with his dad.

I appreciate you working me into your schedule, Jabbro! I'm sure you're always looking to improve, but at least from my perspective I wouldn't say you need to change your style much at all. I'm really enjoying the figures you've been posting. Keep up the great work! ~ Buck

jabbro, the wizard looks like one from the Warhammer Quest set. JIM Actually he is from an Expansion pack called Wizards of Morcar. It was only released in the UK. Morcar was the UK equivalent of Zargon. It never made it here, so GW might have reused the figure for Warhammer Quest. Here is the second in the series. He's an Orc Shaman. I really like this figure... except for the Santa Clause hat... Any chance you could make up a version with no hat?

I wanted to give this one last small "bump" just to see if anyone is willing to help out. I've got a few weeks to get this done. If anyone's interested please post and I'll get in touch with more details. A general idea of what I need is posted above.
Thanks again.

Those Drow figs look great! Are you going to submit those for the Horde? I'd love to get my hand on those.
Thanks for running with the idea! ;D

My only request would be to move the fantasy villagers up in your schedule. I know you've got your "100 set goal" firmly in your sights, but it'd be great if the villagers were in there sooner rather than later!
Thanks, Jim! ;D

Hmmmm... little darker skin... whiter hair, more of a scowl on the face... maybe a more arcane staff...
That would make a pretty fine female Drow caster! ;D

I think I will add a board for this kind of thing in the members projects category. This way anyone can put up their requests. I'll move this post there once I get it setup. JIM Cool - thanks, Jim! I take it then it's ok to make requests like this?

I'm sure I could be tempted. What sort of figs are we talking about? Mostly the PC's that my players have created for this campaign. We're starting the 4E campaign that is being published on the D&D insider - the Scales of War. We'll be on the first adventure - Rescue at Rivenroar. The players have made a Dragonborn Invoker, a Goliath Warlord, and possibly a Shifter Paladin. (He may change his mind and go Dragonborn, he's not sure.) We also have an Eladrin Rogue and a Human Scorcerer, but I think I can find exisiting One Monk figs that will do the job for these. I could use some generic townsfolk, (barkeep, patrons, wench, town council member) which I know is on Jim's To-Do list, but again it may be months before he gets to them. I could use a handful just to get me by for this adventure. I've seen the Himmleville ones available at WWG and didn't care much for them (I like Jim's style better) but in a pinch I could use them. Then I'll probably need a few monster figs as well to round out the creatures in the dungeon. Guard Drakes, Rage Drakes, Ettercaps, and then some variations on Hobgoblins - some archers and grunts to compliment the awesome Hobgobin Jim released in his goblinoid pack. I didn't think I needed that much - but now that I type it out it looks like a lot more than I expected. 3 PC figs, 3 or 4 NPC figs and 4 or 5 monster figs. So worst case - about a dozen.

Buck, I think what you are looking for is more in the line of this thread. It list some of the request for One Monk's fantasy line. I know Jim is pretty booked. I'm not all that sure about commissioning work. I know I am not ready for that, but maybe some of the other artists here may be able to help you. Thanks, Jabbro. I knew about that thread - but I figured that was requests specifically for Jim, and I know his plate is already MORE than full. Even if he were kind enough to entertain my requests it probably wouldn't be for months, and our campaign is kicking off around the end of June. I'm looking for someone who can help me get a handful of figures turned around pretty quickly.

I apologize - I wasn't sure where to post this request or even if this type of request is "allowed".
I'm looking for someone who would be willing to do some custom paper mini's - specifically some of the PC's for an upcoming campaign I'm running as well as some of the monsters that aren't covered by current One Monk sets.
I don't know if it's kosher to ask that sort of thing here. (I don't want to try to take business away from Jim...) If this post has to be deleted I compeltely understand.
But if there is an artist out there willing to help out I'd really appreciate it. I'm completely talentless when it comes to anything artistic, so I won't even pretend I can try this on my own. Of course I'm more than willing to work out a fair deal to compensate you for your time and effort.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the hints, guys.
Mojo > thanks for the photo - actually that is one mistake I quickly figured out. I began to cut the first figure out before I folded the sheet and I thought, "what if these don't match up?" So I stopped and folded and glued the sheet before cutting the rest.
It sounds like it might help if I go to a lighter cardstock (I used the #110lb that I use for my terrain models...) and work with sharper blades. And like anyhting else - practice will help too.
Thanks again guys!

I'm brand new to the whole paper-mini hobby. I've been doing card stock modeling for about 4 or 5 months now and I just found One Monk from the Fat Dragon forums.
I bought the goblin set just to get my feet wet and give this a try. I printed out a few sheets figuring I'd make myself a good little horde and try them out at my next gaming session.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong - but it took me FOREVER just to cut out one goblin. I'm talking like 15 or 20 minutes total to cut it out and edge it. Which in and of itself isn't that huge - but if you're going to do 10 or 15 that's a lot of man-hours. I definitely didn't expect it to take that long.
Is that normal? Does it just go faster once you get the hang of it, or am I missing something? I tried using scissors and using a hobby knife - they both had their advatages and disadvatages - neither one seemed clearly faster than the other.
Some beginner tutorials would really help. Thanks.
