I was fortunate enough to test build Vermin King's Spezieria and decided to redesign the Sortoportego riva to include it. Whilst the initial build was quite straight forward, I realized I could have done a couple of things better

The first change was altering the slope of the ramp to create more space in front of the Spezeria

To fit the space I had in mind, I reversed the building. This worked fine at the front and gave the shop a back door (which it did not initially have).

The final build had some very obvious gaps where I joined it together. I decided to solve this by building everything on a single base. VK added a ridge tile to solve the gap in the roof.

I quickly realized a simple swap of the two buildings was not quite right. In Photoshop, I flipped the front of the workshop and replaced the back door. I also added a couple of tabs to make the join easier.

To give more support to the front walls and roof, I decided to fit a long gable on the workshop. As this will be at the join of the building I folded the roof tabs in opposite directions

Placing a building on the ramp, especially with the redesign proved impossible (don't worry Eric, the apartment block will be used in a different location). I decided instead, to place a Papierschnitzel market stall beside the ramp

This would be the view from the San Cristoforo bridge, showing how te path in front of the Spezieria links to the exit from the sortoportego

On the modified ramp, is the level area intentionally the same width as the sotoportego? Or did it just work out that way? Either way, it looks right.
Your table is looking more authentic all the time

It just worked out that way. I looked at the platform and realized any more than three inches on the flat would make the ramp too steep One inch would not be enough, so it had too be a two inch flat section and a four inch ramp. It wasn't until I did the final test build that I noticed it matched the sortoportego

Steadily building more scatter terrain until I can restock with ink. I hope to work away from the empty streets problem and add a little more narrative.

COMING SOON: More market stalls, more goods and produce and even boats. I also have a hat shop conversion planned and some canopies for the shops

While working on the market stalls,I realized the upper part of the single stall would work as a canopy. After discussion with Kiladecus cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/user/742 he came up with this little beauty to fit a Venice Back Alleys shop front.

A character's view. I had intended to have this removable but my hook in idea proved impractical. I plan to have some produce from the market on the ground at one side of the shop front.

The side of the canopy. the amount of canvas was a little over generous, so I shortened it at the back
