While I write this it occurs to me that "autonomous" and "drone" may have contradicting meanings, and that I need to come up with a better tittle. Anyways... First up, a prototype armed module. External Twin energy based weapons, flight capable (hover really). Second photo shows second generation prototype. Possibly a command unit, with potential enclosed weapon systems and capable of generating an eneryfield around itself for offensive and defensive purposes.

I like the name. Drone for a vehicle just means no pilot on board and autonomous means no remote pilot needed.

Oh yeah, they look not very friendly. Nice StarWars feel to them, I think. Don't want to imagine, what would happen, if a few M.A.D.s are going mad ... .

I like the name. Drone for a vehicle just means no pilot on board and autonomous means no remote pilot needed. Good enough for me !! I really like the acronym, and Droid is trademarked, so ... This leaves the potential for the tag line "It's time to get M.A.D !!!"In the works are some non-flyer (roomba) models and some servo arms, for repair and maintenance duty, as well as some different skins for the domes and weapons systems. Also toying with the idea of some treads that would fit under the chassis.

The direction I'm leaning at the moment is the following:
Security Drone Command Drone Messenger Drone Repair Drone Worker Drone Sniper Drone Spotter Drone
I'm also trying to make it modular, so the parts are interchangable between models.

I'm really liking the one with the arm. I am not quite sure why, but they remind me a little of those little pit droid from Phantom Menace.

Thank you for the kind words. I need to spend my free time for the next couple days getting ready for the South Coast Comic and Toy Show, but when I get back the next thing I'm going to work on is a pair of smaller arms for the worker drones. After that, some new weapons systems. Any ideas or suggestions ?

Do you think they could work as two or four legged walkers as well?

I could mod the gun attachment into legs, and put a gun mounted on top. Make more of a self propelled gun platform.

Yes, I'm kind of imagining the legs as looking similar to the arm too.

Nice! These things are going to be whole army of different kind... I can easy imagine one of them with a "mono-wheel", sort of "automated segway"

Like I mentioned before my drone army is going to get a lot bigger fast! I better make more terra force guys to compensate! I can't wait to see the others!

You demented souls. A mono wheel ? Sadly enough, that's a pretty easy conversion, consider it on my "to do" list. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GRENDIZER GO !!! I am soo going to build at least one Spazer Drone. Maybe even an uber Drone that deploys smaller ones.

Never made it past the black and white phase. I'll be happy to share what I've done if someone would like to take a stab at coloring them.

I LOVE THESE! I love the LAWHAMMER feel of the first couple... not so much the ones with the legs, but that is just me. I could see these swarming overhead as some of Jim's Zoa troops run along the ground. Now you just need some flying vehicles that are named for deadly sea creatures that these can support. If I could, I'd give this concept 4 1/2 stars (out of 5). If HP wants to color them, please have him do so... I have followed his work for a couple of years and he does a brilliant job. (Please check your PM's...)

Okay I received the file from Adam Souza and I've started the long process of creating layers for each section of the M.A.D.'s I'm hoping that once I'm done I will be able to reproduce colour schemes for the ZOA by tonsha as well as a few of my own. Don't expect a super fast turn around I'm currently getting over a massive ear infection and my peak time is between the time my codeine starts to wear off and the pain begins. Adam this is some really good line work you have done here! There are enough pieces that I will only need to create a few extras to be able to make sniper drones as well. I will keep everyone posted on the progress!
