The Heavy Gun drone looks great. The gun assembly looks quite labor intensive. It is really not bad. the only difficult part was the cylinders of the gun barrels.

Keep in mind, the illustration shows all four of the major assembly goals. This isn't too bad.
Results justify the additional steps IMO
Of course, I'm the idiot who prints off second copies of everything so I'll have panels, doors, etc. to laminate and give depth...

I must say it looks really neat in your pics. Definitly building one of these after I finish up a Sniper Drone and another double antennae Shield Drone Lol. ;D

More out of curiosity will the other colors be easy to make now that the brown drones are made? Didn't know if it was just a matter of changing base colors on the drones or repainting the whole model again, Lol.

Just got done building the Sniper Drone. I must say it's a fun build, tho it does have a little more to it to cut (angle wise) than a Gun or Shield Drone, but not bad at all. It looks Really good, Nice work! ;D Here's my build photos: Next I think I'll have to build either the Heavy Gun Drone or the Repair/Arm Drone, Lol. ;D

Any word on the other color schemes? Or the B&W's so we can color our own?

That sorta thing should be Stickied! *grumble grumble*
Now I just need to figure out how to put textures into minis and I'll be set! (I don't suppose you know a tutorial for that, do you?)

I had to play around with that before I got it to work. I think you are using Gimp, right?
In Gimp, there is a 'patterns' folder under your personal file. Putting your texture in that file allows you to apply that texture to your template

Do they need to be a particular file type like Brushes do?

I've never messed with brushes. I have my textures as .jpg, but I don't remember if it requires that

I know this is kinda reviving an old thread but is there a way to make the Gun, Shield, and Sniper Drones without layers and just with the LAU markings? I've been printing from my Google Drive from my iPad (having PC troubles) and it prints all the makings on them at once and doesn't give the option for layers (I think cause the iPad doesn't support them). If someone is up to the challenge lol!

I see what you are looking for on the markings, but which file is the Shield drone?

Looks like MAD 2 Brown is the Shield Drone, MAD Brown is the regular Gun Drone, and MAD Sniper Drones is the other one.

And do you want one of each on a single page? Or three pages of each type? It would probably be easiest to do a conversion of a page rather than piecemeal
Now, I don't have full-blown Acrobat on this computer, or else I'd just print to pdf. Is this something that can be done with CutePDF?
Do you want the LAU symbol, too?

Either way will work perfect as long as it can still be in PDF format. The blue LAU markings are up to you, I'm not sure how easy it is to keep them, if it creates a bunch more work then the base models are still perfect!

I'm glad to see you guys are getting some use out of these, and my heartful thanks goes out to Highland Piper for making the recolors.
I just saw them being distributed on a Facebook 40K papermodels group.

Photobucket have have forsaken us, but I have not !! I'm going to build one of each and make some instructions. In the mean time, this should help with the Sniper Drone, which is the most difficult build.
