Dave says that he is going to be reposting previous years' models for a limited time only, but it hasn't been done just yet. I'll let you know

Dave's Outlawz Mini Cruzer I'd been meaning to do this for quite a while, but finally got around to printing it last night. Clear coated and scored, but as I started cutting, I realized there are tabs at the top of the cabin walls AND on the roof. You can find the model here -- davesdesigns.ca/cutandfold/html/free_paper_models.htmlIt is based off Ichiyama's Countryman at www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~kamaboko/1_30model/pg18.html, with his permission. It never really says, even on Ichiyama's Flash Instructions, but I am assuming that after you get the roof to the proper shape, the tabs on the roof get glued back into the roof to try to lock in the roof shape. We'll see here shortly It worked

Dave saw the trailer for the new Blade Runner movie and decided to go for a couple of the new movie vehicles. In the meantime, he did the smaller of the Metrokabs But I'm really looking forward to this one down the road But since this one is available now, I'd better post the photo of the Metrokab It should be available in StarCarz, with Assembly diagrams available at his forum

And the new Spinner is posted in the StarCarz section And there is an assembly diagram on the forum for members there. You may have guessed that Dave is a Blade Runner fan

I know I had the Hot Wheels version of the Red Baron car from the 1970s at one point. It might still be in a box with a couple hundred other cars in my parents' garage, but it got played with hard, so it's probably not in collectible condition. It was one of my favorite Hot Wheels, though I'm not sure I was aware at the time that it existed as a real car. Fun to see it remembered in papercraft!

I have the Snake/Mongoose Dragsters, and the funny cars, too. But twenty years ago, the dragsters were appraised at $165 for the pair. I wish I'd gotten two sets of everything -- one to play with, and one to keep
And if you had the Monogram model of the first series of the Red Baron, it would be worth some cash.

There is a very real possibility that the entire box (technically, it was a styrofoam cooler with about 3 gallons of Hot Wheels) went to Goodwill many years ago. Hopefully, it will turn up when my parents move later this year. If not, well...I wasn't counting on that money anyway...(shrug)

Got sidetracked tonight while waiting on the server to be fixed on our CRM. Got the treads scaled to give this 3D wheels, and then upped the scale on the whole shmear to 105%, and it still fits on one page.

While printing out the Downstairs (DS) files on the Dodecagon House, which will need to be clear-coated and allowed to dry, I decided to start on this little guy

Made some progress over lunch. After printing this model, I thought the chassis spacers (they fit between the wheels to keep everything nice and straight) probably should have been re-sized to accommodate the tire tread mod. It works, but the treads aren't quite perfect circles. It shouldn't be noticeable. I'll see tonight when I install them and go on to the fiddly bits Aren't the graphics fantastic? Mom called to tell me that the Royals were leading Boston with a Perez grand slam homerun, so I took a break

Okay, if I were to do it again, rocket tubes would be painted, sanded-down toothpicks. Very cool. Interesting that there are so many fiddly, rounded bits on it (the pipes, the windscreens, the conical R2-looking thing between the seats), I'm kind of amazed that the rocket exhaust in the back center is just printed flat on the tail end of the car, though. I remember that detail vividly from the show (it shot flames as the car accelerated, as I recall), but those other details could have been left off the model, and I wouldn't have missed them. Odd choice by the artist.

Well, with all the Photobucket issues, Dave has gotten behind on releases. He has some very interesting models to be released, but he doesn't want to release them all at once, so he's having a poll over at PaperModelers on which to release first, www.papermodelers.com/forum/dave-winfields-projects/39074-august-2017-koolwheelz-release-party.htmlDave is also trying to raise money to attend this year's International Paper Modelers Convention, so if you like his models (or feel generous), visit his websites and make a donation, buy one of his models, buy a T-shirt, or all of the above, davesdesigns.ca/cutandfold/
