I'd love it me too, but the drawback is how fast you can find "that rule" once you don't want to "read the story" anymore but just check the rules.

I'd love it me too, but the drawback is how fast you can find "that rule" once you don't want to "read the story" anymore but just check the rules. That's why I suggested the "vanilla" cheat sheet. "Vanilla" in this case means plain & simple, while still delicious. The comic book version is a triple hot fudge banana split with whipped cream and a cherry on top (ie too good for everyday consumption) You wouldn't necessarily need to print out the comic book, either, unless introducing it to several people at once (say at a con, or new home game),

For those who would like to support the Darkfast Dungeon Kickstarter, but want Paypal, well, here you go! okumarts.com/darkfast-dungeons.html You'll have to choose the option and add ons you want, but it should work. Please let me know if there are issues. I'll be updating the total as we go to keep the Stretch Goals going. The paypal options are not pretty, but it's up. Thanks Schmoopie! /posts/916855 Also.. Basic and Advanced set images are up. The art isn't final, but it gives you an idea of what you get for $10 and $15.

Something kind of special is coming up and it just sort of snuck up on me. It was supposed to happen when 70 people support the Kickstarter and I JUST noticed that we are at 68 backers. Spread the word, I think this special release is really cool and will complement the skirmish game nicely and even be pretty awesome on its own.
Two more people people.

And a bunch of Evil Garden Gnome Zombies to boot! Presumably the Gnome Survivors with fishing rods - or are they whips? - and the Red-and-White Toadstool Hench-Things that carry them (they can't really just be using them as seats in a dungeon crawl surely?), will have to wait for the KS stretch goal to be reached Just one thought on the Caverns. Will they all be square in the final package, or is the hexagonal base-plate for the Caverns stretch-goal, the $5000 level, on the KS website a not-so-subtle hint at other shapes?

You can use the floating walls to get whatever shape you desire. There will be floating wall options in all the wall sets even though it's not really reflected in the game itself. There will also be a lot more floating wall options in the final set.

David - just to clarify, I used the link you supplied above to sign up for the basic game (and pay my ten bucks via paypal). Do I also have to sign up via the kickstarter site to receive updates etc, or are you adding in my e-mail and that from my Paypal details?? My first KS experience here....

Oh. That's a reAlly good point. I will have to set up a PayPal email group. Thanks for the support and for reminding me to get on that. I've made all updates and comments public so you should be able to keep up by checking on the site every once and a while.

I am torn, so torn, about this last gaming goodie. On the one hand, I love gnomes. On the other hand, I hate zombies. On the third hand, I love your art. Hey, where'd that third hand come from? Wait, what? It's moving on its own! RRRRUUUUUNNN!

Ok, here i am, trying to get if i have enough money for this KS project. I'd like to pose some question to you, David: - The dark dephts: this expansion is only available at the $50 Level.... there's any chance to have it "reduced" or mudolar? what i mean is that i'd like to have the added characters and tiles, the monsters and all the "game material", but not so interested in the walls and furnitures (i'm still more a boardgamer than a modeler). So, to me, getting the things i'd like most (miniatures and gaming stuffs) will means buy a lot of "just aesthethic stuffs" (not in a negative meaning, they're just not striclty needed to play). So, a reduced version of it, and/or having it available also as an add-on could be great, for me. - Card packages: i see why there's one for the fantasy sets, but why for Western and Cosmic? That settings does not have a game.... will it come out in the future? Also about the Katana girls: you said that the minigame will be revised with the new rules... so this package will become necessary to play the new rules.... will be the cards part of the update, or sold separatly? In the end, while i like to support you, i'll like to avoid to buy things two times, or have things that i can't play 'cause i did'nt buy a part in the right time.... could you explain me a bit better what will happens about the other games and the other sets? Thanks

So, a reduced version of it, and/or having it available also as an add-on could be great, for me. The Dark Depths is a Kickstarter exclusive designed to offer a thank you to people of KS for their support. Every Prop will have a 2D marker for those who do not want to model anything. Each prop will also have something that adds to the game whether it be fire markers, Magic healing (or cursed) pools, crags and crevices, altars, statues, traps, etc. I'm hoping the props give added value and fun to the basic game and 2d non-modeling options will help people who only want to play it as a board game, but the 3d props will make it attractive to people who want to build dungeon dressing for this game or any other Dungeon Crawl experience. - Card packages: i see why there's one for the fantasy sets, but why for Western and Cosmic? That settings does not have a game.... will it come out in the future? The Western and Cosmic sets are included because it certainly adds to the old school approach (the Boot Hill and Gamma World appendix in the 1st ed. DMG). As to if there will be a western game and a Cosmic game? Well, I'm open to that, but I want to get this one done first. This will help move that process forward much faster. Thanks The Mini Game will be expanded into a set coming this Winter called Katana Schoolkids vs Everything. It will take everything from the original game and add 6 new characters (male school kids) and add new threats (robots, mutants, aliens, demons, yakuza) to battle. The rules will be updated to reflect the evolution of the system from 1st ed. to the Darkfast Dungeons rules (which are easier to play and more streamlined). The revised edition will be sent as a freebie to everyone who has bought the first edition. I want to thank people for jumping on board in the first place and I don't want to have an "edition war" The new cards for the Katana Schoolgirls will be compatible with Darkfast Dungeons and you could surely use them in their own game (the tiles are the same size, for example and the mechanics are pretty much the same). The Katana Schoolgirls are offered with the Serene Fist Add On. Thanks for the great questions. I hope that helps. David

I posted cutfiles for the Potato Salad That Ate Kickstarter. okumarts was very kind to put up with my whining about including registration marks, and I'll pledge to make as many cutfiles as I can for whatever he releases with registration marks. If you have any issues with the cutfiles, you can harass me, not him. But if you have any praise, please pass that directly to him to encourage him to make more awesomenessly-good stuff.

This is the only "sad" part: being me oriented towards the 10$ pledge plus most of the addons, it means that the only way to grab the Dark Dephts expansion is to crawl on a step 40$ higher.... a bit steepy for me (don't get me wrong: "steepy" is related to my pocket only, i'm not debating the value of your products). Thanks again

My mom is feeling better and I'm getting elves done. Soon the tree folk (Ents) will be done as well and then I can turn to finishing the colouring of the remaining heroes and monsters in the basic set. I've never worked so hard and produced this much in such a short time. It's very satisfying. I'm just ironing out the stretch goal after the FDG one. It will rock! Tell a friend, heck, tell two friends.. spread the word and let's make the last 11 days of this kickstarter matter! /posts/928622

You need a video that has you in it.Danae Ringelmann, the co-founder of Indiegogo, was in town this weekend and gave several talks about crowd-funding. The video is for the participants and potential investors to look into your eyes and connect with you on a more personal level. It's not as much about the product, or even the perks, it's about participating with you the creator in realizing one of your dreams. Why is it important to you? What excites you about it? The video allows you to share that excitement and passion. All of the panelists, who had all run successful Kickstarters in Alaska, said the video with them in it talking about their project was what convinced people to participate. Then Danae explained why it was important. You need a video that has you in it.That was the single biggest lesson that I took away from her talks. And then she and I chatted about where she could get GF beer and pizza during her stay.
