The shuttle hangar will happen by the end of the month, earliest. After a short but rather heavy illness, my father passed away yesterday evening. My head is full with stuff, none of it being papercraft... I am sorry to hear about it. Take all the time you need. When you are ready to return, we will be here.

Necessity is the mother of invention, it is said. When I was generating random forces for a solo game of Five Men In Normandy, the "opposition" had a vehicle in their group as well. I didn't have anything that shouted "chinese bandits stole my truck" so I modified one from the excellent Pulp vehicles brought to us by grendelsmother64 here. And then I never actually played the scenario before acquiring Soviet soldiers as the oppostion force. I'll take some pictures of it someday, I promise. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped anyway But, then I still needed a truck for my Soviet force, and the blue bandit truck wasn't going to do the part very well. So, I took the same file and modified the green truck to look mostly like a Russian ZIS-5 and recolored one of Christopher Roe ' free vehicle weapons and here we go: I'm not very happy with how the wheels turned out, I couldn't seem to match the green of the truck with the new wheels. And the front fenders could sure use some coloring matching with the body of the truck as well. If some kindly forumite knows a good trick for doing that and wants to take a crack at it, then by all means go for it!

Related to my pink Bugs up above, here are the Grazer Bugs, half the size of the Warrior Bugs, lacking the small "arm" limbs, and having a proportionately shorter snout: With these, I think I have enough variety to represent the ecology of Pinkfluffdoodle V, at least until another Pink nightmare flits through my mind. EDIT: I found a build problem. I will fix it and re-post this further down the thread.

The contrasting fenders was fairly common back then. I think that if the area on the back, below the wooden panels on the exterior, matched the front fenders, it would make it more cohesive. That, or make it match the body color only darker. I think the wheel color should be able to be lightened a bit with adjusted contrast. I'd be able to help more if I saw a photo of the built vehicle

Too much procrastination this year, could I put some minidungeon figures that I did? December is for anything you are wiling to share. The only meaningful rule is "no pornography". There is private messaging for that.

That area on the back is supposed to be the undercut, there is no siding below the bed. The contrasting fenders were common on civilian vehicles in the '30s, but this is a generic Russian '40s military truck. In any event, I hope to have it built by Sunday and I will post some pics for you

I took the extra stuff off Not perfect. Save the praise until after the build. But I think I got done what was requested. I'm anxious to see it built You know, with a little tweaking, it could look more like this

Should I do more? That side view you posted is the same one I was using as a reference lol! I think you have not only exceeded my expectations, but also what I thought might be possible. Let me do a build of it over the weekend and we'll see how it looks assembled. We can collaborate more from there

Too late I think I am calling this 'acceptable' And no, this is not going in the Hoard. What I did was not a repaint. I took images, and by manipulating them, I came up with textures, and the various parts that needed connected to make a ZIS military truck. I took a person's artwork, without their permission, to get what was needed. I am comfortable having it in the forum for people to hunt for and find, but Hoards are a sort of showcase of our work. I don't know for a fact that grendelsmother64 would allow a repaint, but when I did the UPS truck, he was fine with it being posted on the forum. In the Hoards, I don't know. I don't feel like tracking down the artist who did the artwork on that side-view. On the forum, okay. In the Hoard, no way. I just hope this suits your needs, which I think it will And now that I look at it again, I think I need to add the uprights on the inside of the wooden bed, but that has to wait, because my bed is calling me

Well, boy howdy! When I screw up, I screw up big! Somehow I managed to put my truck model that Vermin King made so beautiful on 8.5" x 14" template, not 8.5" x 11" as I had thought. This caused a bit of a discussion at the copy store. Mind you, I don't have the best social skills, but the vlerk knows me from the last four months of my projects so we were able to work it out. Wound up printing it on an 11" x 17" sheet, and it cost me six cents more than usual. I will commence building it soon.

So, was it enlarged to 11X17, or did you print two of them side-by-side?
Or a lot of scrap white?

OK, so I rearranged the pieces and made it to 8.5" x 11" Many, many thanks to Vermin King for all the help!

Nikki is really good at what she does, and she knows what I am doing and looking for. It was a lot of scrap white because it was 14" long not 11" long. That's the good side of being a chatterbox; the other party understands your needs lol

Have a 3 page transporter room almost ready for upload (there's some trouble with the floor). Once the instructions are done, I'll upload it, since I don't know if I'll find the time to build the shuttle bay...

As some of all y'all might be aware, my science fiction wilderness terrain is done up in bubblegum pink. No, really, it is. Don't believe me? Here's your proof: Those are Truffula Trees! Do you have a Onceler selling Thneeds? You should! That would be awesome!

Those are Truffula Trees! Do you have a Onceler selling Thneeds? You should! That would be awesome! Those are, in fact, Truffula trees. The Onceler, however, is from the fantastic world of Dr. Seuss, and this is the not-quite-so fantastic world of Pinkfluffdoodle V, where Truffula trees were successfully transplanted before their extinction on the former
