Daytime will not work for me this week at all. Two webinars tomorrow, one Wednesday, two Thursday. Friday late might work, but that is dependent on the auto shop. I'm pretty sure there will be more of these. Maybe you can join episode 3 - next week, maybe.

So - I think that I'm going to keep trying the live-stream-with-others-also-on-video kitbash thing. Next up will be the new fireplace from lightning - the final piece for my Small Farmhouse Collective In A Box. Free version: www.patreon.com/posts/free-basic-bit-38249573It won't be fold-flat, but I'll build it with an open hearth, and even try to see if I can wire it with a drop-in flicker light. I'm looking for people to join me on the zoom channel to talk while we build together. If you want to build at the soemthing at the same time, even better! I'm thinking an hour tomorrow: Tuesday June 16th sometime between 10am and 3pm PDT. Is that good for anybody? If not, I can do another day. Of course, I'm hoping I can get the designers themselves on at the same time... lightning...

The Players Manual pictured is AD&D, sometimes referred to as 1st edition AD&D.
Not pictured are the D&D versions between the white-box (sometimes called OD&D) and Basic/Expert D&D - often called Blue and Red box editions. It's complicated.
Then there's the entire OSR/Retroclone movement...

We are ALL familiar with the challenge of gaining, and keeping, focus. Especially when so much of what is going on in the world is beyond our personal control.
Hang in there guy... And know that we all have [virtual] closets full of unfinished things. Some of them right here on this forum..
[ahem.... popup steps set ... ahem]

Chris Roe made a 'patch kit' you can find on his site (http://www.genetmodels.com/fun-stuff/) to make the squares to cover up the old reg marks. I have a printed adhesive sheet of these little black squares. Back before I had a continuous ink printer, I used a few. They worked OK. Honestly, I almost NEVER print directly from a PDF anymore for cutting. I have access to Adobe Acrobat (full version) that saves to bitmap files - I use that and often replace any existing regmarks when printing through Studio. It's all Silhouette's fault by changing the regmark standard mid-stream. :-P

Here's what a fold-flat version with interior looks like. Honestly it's a LOT of work - and I gave both my copies away! If anyone is interested in trying to do something like this, I recorded a series of YouTube videos...

Nice nest, though I can't really see what is in it. Look at the 8th image... He's in there, and the critter is in another photo in the collection - not shown here. I got some help from mproteau (Paper Realms) with that nest...

Nice, clean build!
I have built this model several times. Each time I do something different. It's classic, and it's free!

Masterpieces are a combination of skill and luck. Skill only comes with practice. Now that you have the cutter figured out, will you be able to do your own cutfiles for things? I still want to come back to doing more old west stuff, but I don't have a cutter, and I enjoy the cutting by hand, but should you want to use any of my projects, and do the cutfiles, I can help you out on some things you can't find, I imagine I dont know how to make cut files. Is there a good tutorial online or on this site? What stuff do you have that needs cut files? I watched some "craft ladies" make cutfiles on YouTube. :-)

We can probably help -
There are a lot of variables in your problem: What cutter, what version of Studio - and do cut files you make yourself work properly?
Please post a sample cutfile and image that you're trying to cut for us.
If the registration points are too close to the edge, sometimes feeding the page a bit left/right shifted can help.
Also, different regmark patterns want the page fed "upside down"/inverted compared to other cut files (usually done so the company can print their logo in otherwise "banned" areas.
Those are common problems.
Oh yeah, Silhouette customer support will never be helpful. Forums like this and YouTube are your best resources.
--
What a lot of us do with older models/cutfiles is print them from within Studio itself, because that means the software that made the regmarks, reads the regmarks. This often means creating white-no-cut-boxes to cover the original regmarks...

You mean like a bird's nest? I just did a quick and dirty one - found an image of some straw, copy/pasted a few times at various angles in GIMP. Thanks for this!

I want to build this at D&D game scale as a showcase playable location! I'd even commit storage space so it doesn't have to fold flat.

I'm kitbashing jjensen's Magic Emporium, and I want to put in a nest for a familiar in the rafters. Do any of you know of a model for a nest? I can scale up/down as needed and might even modify it to fit the space, but would really like this model - I've had a need several times before and come up short...

Yes, that's the link.
Don't change what you run on my account - if it's too different from what you already know, that might make you uncomfortable.
Running a first virtual session for a system that you're unfamiliar with maybe not worth the double headaches.
Honestly, I've been afraid to do it, and I know 5E like the back of my hand... That's why I was hoping to play in someone elses online game first...

To keep things simple to start with, for the live RPG session, I would suggest 5 th edition Tunnels and Trolls. Flying Buffalo offer a free "light" version of the rules to download.... Unless anyone else has other suggestions. D&D 5e? It also has a free low level rules. Depending on dates/times, if it's 5e, I'd love to do live session(s).

LOL! I was about to post the first page of the Portico Arch for the Rialto Bridge. I was debating over whether to leave open, have tabs on each of the sides, or make each side closed at the bottom. I do believe I will close out the bottom of the box now. Your timing is exemplary EDIT -- Better? Yes! Great!
