Hi, all. Here's an entry that is a build for an upcoming session. We're playing the Lost Mines of Phandelver. In the town of Phandelin the PCs have decided to ambush the Redbrands at the ruins of Tresender Manor. There's no map provided for the ruined manor, so I made it up. This build includes the following sets/elements: -FDG Winterhawk Tower Ruins -FDG Winterhawk Outpost Ruins -FDG Forest and Ruins -FDG Realms of the Dwarf Lords -WWG Hinterlands.

Does anyone know of a Vrock paper mini? Jim's old Hooked Horror mini would be perfect if it had wings.

It was suggested to me that I submit this build as an entry. This category seems like right one. The terrain is from the Caverns of Chaos set by Fat Dragon Games. The Neogi are adapted from textures by Eddnic. They are a combination of the Goblin Spider Rider spider (try saying that ten times quickly) and the lizard man. The Umber Hulks are by Eddnic as well and used as is. The metal minis are all by Reaper. In this encounter, the PCs followed Neogi scouts who had captured several dwarves back to their hive. They encountered hundreds of Neogi but were aided by dwarf reinforcements. I employed a D&D 5E mass combat adaptation for that part. In the end, the PCs faced off against the Neogi great old one. When they wounded the great old one, swarms of hatchlings emerged from it's impregnated thorax. It was disgustingly great fun. Enjoy. Cheers, Afet

Oxen?

I think I tried to do 2.5d oxen. As I recall the heads came out too big, but I can`t find that external drive right now. I`m just back from the cottage. I`ll ask my wife in the morning . . . Found it. If you don't like him as a 2.5d figure, you can trim off the base and use him as a rug Thanks, Cowboyland. I´ll give this a try.

Thanks. The displacer beast is one of my favorites by Eddnic.

afet I take it the slit is in the mini, not the mount? Both, a larger slit in the rider and a smaller one in the horse. Here's a pic:

Thanks, afet! I wonder what xtea is up to these days? She sure was a valuable member while she was here! I agree. I've used her horses many times. Here are the modified palominos with Dryw's recolored Raiders as riders:

As Xtea's warhorses with the barding don't really fit the bill for these barbarian raiders, I've modded Xtea's palomino slightly to make it more stable and work better for mounting minis. You can check those out here: cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/post/60700/threadHere's a pic of the spearmen on the modified palominos. I'll post more images when I set up the scenario.

I needed a riding horse without barding, so I've modified Xtea's palomino slightly to make it work better for my purposes. I've reduced the mane and tail and rotated the horse forward so that three hooves make contact with the base. Also the front and back are the same, but I don't think that's a deal breaker in this case. Here's a low res image Here's a link to the pdf: www.dropbox.com/s/1glikrifly65jpc/Polominos%20by%20Xtea%20modified.pdfCheers, Afet

Hi. I took the liberty of modifying and merging your Goblin rider's spider with the head of his snake man. The colors are not really right for a Neogi: But it's not bad. Here's the result: Here's a link to the pdf: Neogi.pdf (651.97 KB) You could do a much better job I'm sure.

Hi, Eddnic. Have you considered making 2.5D Neogi minis? They would go well with your Umber Hulks. Cheers, Afet.

You're right, the Neogi would by just the sort of thing that Eddnic would make. But, unfortunately, he hasn't done them. I might be able to take a head and neck from one creature and add it to a spider.

I would begin by modding Ebbles Alien Bugs. Hmmm... great idea. I'm not sure if I have any of those.

How about a sign hanging out front with two arrows crossed over a bow or something similar? My two cents, one more and you'll have a nickle! BTW: A fletcher's shop, great idea! Can't wait to see it finished. I like the sign idea. An image something like this would work: Note: a similar image was used as part of the symbol of the Francoist Fascist party, la Falange: I would have the arrows pointing downward to avoid any associations with that ideology.

I love your stuff too, Dave. But I´m not fond of the cobblestones. They look a little too much like finished marble. They look good, but they are implausible for street paving.

The horses' barding comes out in the file, but the horse bodies do not appear to be there.
