A few yearsback, I only had access to a black and white printer. I printed up some of Ebbles' Terra Force figures and coloured them with water clour paints.

I had a universal carrier with 2-pounder gun. One of the gun's wheels was missing, so I took the remaining one, made a mold from Blutac and made a new wheel with some of that two-part epoxy resin glue. It took a few days for it to dry rock hard, but after a little tidying with a knife, it looked OK.

At work I just found we have an Epson L210 printer, the sort that has the seperate refillable CMYK reservoirs. It's been hidden away in its box for a couple of years and I think the ink pipes may have dried up. It has plenty of ink in the tanks, but doesn't print red or blue. Other than running lots of test print jobs through it, does anyone have any other ideas for getting the juices to flow?

I just found these at the bottom of a drawer, while looking for a box to put an ammeter in: and yes, the /are/ cardboard! Well mostly. But not craftistically folded, rather hacked out of that thick card you get at the back of lined-block, the sort you knick aquire from meetings, training sessions, hotels and so on. The main body ang turrets are from the thick card. Cupolas, other raised details and skirts are thinish drawing paper and the tracks are printer/copier paper. The whels are cocktail sticks and the guns are cut down pins. They were knocked up in about an hour on a Saturday afternoon to play with some sweet 'n' simple rules I made up. The dark ones were painted by my son, who was about five or six at the time. Now I'm tempted to have bash at some more, but the list of unfinished projects grows steadily longer...

No need, my boy has three 30litre boxes full and several smaller boxes of LEGO. When told he couldn't have any LEGO for Christmas, he said ''Not much point in Christmas then...'' We cavex in and bought some more LEGO.

Oh, and I act, ually do not drink beer. For me, a six-pack usually is past the 'Best Before' date before I'm halfway through Amen to that! Last christmas, we ditched about 10 tins of Carlsberg because it had just gone ove its best before. 'Just over' in this case was two and a half years...

Not the most elligant way and they're not removeable, but for my two-and-a-half-dee models, I just used a healthy blob or two of PVA glue. It dries fairly clear, so isn't thar noticeable. If the glue blobs bother you, then you can alsays touch them up with a bit of brown or green paint to look like mud or grass.

Interestingly, I watched some bookbinding videos on YouTube after this post, and discovered that "real" bookbinders--both hobbyists and high-end craftsfolk--use a lot of PVA glue (aka white glue) than I expected. One of the ways they use it is exactly where Chris is using the flexible-bond contact cement--to bind the spine of a perfect-bound book. BTW, those videos on bookbinding were fascinating. It's a branch of this hobby--or perhaps it's a separate but closely-related hobby--that I'm getting increasingly interested in. If I do actually make anything, I absolutely will post pics. . Thread drift I know, but I'm surprised about that: PVA dries hard, and I thought it would crack. I've only ever made one book, but because I couldn'd get any gum arabic, I stitched the pages together.

I too had trouble with the stalkers and slahers. It was too fiddley for me to assemble them using the slots. Instead I just stuck the arms and legs on flat to the sides, but gave a bit of width/space between the limb ad the body with an extra piece of card. I think I see what you are saying. I think I will try that with the next one I put together. That also gives the ability to put the arms and legs the way I want to as well. I tried to take some photos to show how I built them: They're a based up ready to take on the orcs:

I have a question what is that yellow black thing in a bottom rear side. Some kind of brake gear? I think it's the "hook" that jet use to land on carriers This one have some stripes on it.f Looks like carrier aircraft, the skull and crossbones is the mascot for VF-17/61 Jolly Rodgers.

I've got a few dozen or so WH40k figures, mostly basic space marines, but most were given to me and Idon't actually play Warhammer. Yes, I do think most of GW's stuff is over-priced, but what really p15535 off me is how they price things: basically, you pay for what the figure is worth onn. the table, not how much plastic is in thr figure/kit. Lego is now the same way - The Star Wars sets are significantly more expensive than a Lego City set with the same or even more pieces. I saw the action figure kits, where all the male characters, such as Finn and Kylo Reb were about EUR 25 and the female character Ray was just under EUR 20. For GW stuff, whole troop of basic soldiers can cost as little as EUR 10, but one über dude with mean hair cut and superman's cape can be about EUR 30 and up! So you can only really field a powerful army if you have plenty of leasure money.
Now, I can print up entire armies of One Monks hybrids and Dave Okums orcs few a couple of Euros or so (or less if I can do them at work...)

If you want to have your stuff online, but aren't too worried about it not being a high tech, high spec shoppe style web site, I can offer some space. I have a website running from my own server shoved up on the wall next to my router modem. I can't even offer your own domain name /yet/, but it is possible - I just need to learn how to share a single IP address between two domain names (apparently it's pretty easy). PM me if you're interested.
