Except '0' isn't really an 'apprentice'. Curious, maybe. Most folks would probably object to that, though As I edited in my original post - I'm open to other orders. How would you rank those?

Is that the order you would want them in? When I build the poll I'm going to copy and paste from the submissions. I edited it and it's still open for suggestions/improvements. Until then, here's my latest cut-n-pasteable list: 00 Apprentice 01 Rookie 02 Layperson 03 Assistant 04 Intern 05 Practitioner 06 Artisan 07 Master 08 Mentor 09 Veteran 10 Guru I like the level of skill over the military ranks...

Now that old squirmydad has spoken, I've deleted my comments from this thread. I'll save any further discussion for talking about next year's contest, if we are invited to do so.

Oh! Wait! That's not a photograph of a build! Good point shep! Looks like it slipped through old squirmydad's rush to get the votes up. It's up to him what to do, but at this point I propose we keep the voting in place, and just have him figure out what to do if it places. In the future, we probably should have a qualification/review phase long enough to make sure everything's in the right place.

Welcome and thank you for joining the community here!
I checked @autohammer - it isn't in the rules that a mini must have a frontside-and-a-backside.
Though, I can share that many of the creators/builders here have a strong preference for figures that do have two sides of art - so it might be keeping you vote count down a bit.
Perhaps in future years, we can share a "contest primer" that will explain stuff like that - instead of bringing it up at voting time. Sorry about that!
Again - we're so glad to have you here!

SURPRISE! This entry is on behalf of the artist: Paloma Farmer (my daughter) who created this for me in 2017 as my Father's Day card (if this places, I'll let her buy something with it). I'm sharing it by request, since someone thought they might use it for their entry in another category...:-) NOTE: High-res image, please scale appropriately before printing. fathersday_2017 by Oracle Omega, on Flickr Build photo: An Ogre and His Cake by Oracle Omega, on Flickr In any case, enjoy!

I am surprised how much I love the black and white art look! Let's you focus more on the characters. Yeah! It's more like what would happen if you kept the "abstractness" of a B&W map and stretched it into 3d. Giving it dimension without losing the character...

Toman - just to be clear - did you intend for the First Photo to be your Official Entry Image? If not, you can go ahead an rearrange them and mark it. It's OK to have all the rest there too. This looks great! Personally, I like the last shot best - but that's just me - I like hiding the rest of the world myself.

Cool! Could you upload a video of it in action?
I really like that it can 100% stand in for a piece of terrain!
