Take your time, no rush here. What are holidays for if not to indulge in our hobbies?

First turret builds; Forgot the splinter shield for the MG and the smoke launchers. Texturing continues. *The above photos were taken after the drop tests. Some dings on the corners, otherwise fine. This was using Hammermill 80lb stock.

I've been slowly trying to learn sketchup, but for some reason 3D modeling is a learning curve for me. I caught on to PhotoShop quick tho. Funny, I'm just the opposite. 3D work feels easy and quick, Photoshop feels like I still don't know a million things. Thanks for the links, I'll see what I can do. **BTW; what scale are you looking at? HO?

Thanks for that one too. Little more work on turret parts and reshaped the barrel to a hex tube instead of a square tube.

Since you're putting up the textures, the 3d part is not that hard for me, I'll give it a go. I'll make one diesel train, please go to one of these blueprint sites and pick one, then tell me what scale, and I'll see if I can get it designed up. blueprintbox.com/cat476.htmwww.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/trains/Or, if you can find side, front and rear view photos that I could use as reference, I could try and work off of those.

Thanks for the feedback, fellas! ;D I am in the middle of the sets for Dark Skull Studios, and when I wrap this up, it looks like I *may* be doing figures for a different company! So, now that I am doing lay-out, I am not sure when I will have time to get back to my own stuff... (Actually, it is pretty cool to have "real" gaming companies asking me to work with them). I am just glad they don't know all of the people out there that do this better than I do. Thanks again! Don't worry, you're secrets safe with us. I agree with Kevin, it looks like you have a sound base idea, trying to create a thousand options that will please everyone is the path of madness. People are always looking for good terrain and if you put out the same pieces in five varieties your customers will be able to print, cut, and mod to create individually styled pieces. Fold-flat and durability for metal minis are good guidelines for projects like this.

Wow, just wow... I got the geometry of the Urutu from you some time back, but after a few tries I saw that I was not ready for texturing something like this. Now seeing the white build, I know it'll be awesome! Thanks, wasn't sure if you'd done any work on it. As a native Brasilian, what are the colors commonly seen on the Urutu? Is there a different color scheme for security forces? Thanks.

It's February so I'm starting my Forum Hoard project; It's the Brazilian Urutu apc that I designed at Hackbarth's request some time back. I'll be doing this up with simple detailing and easy texturing in olive drab, camo, and UN white. I still need to design an MG mount and missile launcher. I'll start a development thread in my own area once I make some more progress.

No one's faulting you for your participation in this project Dave. The figures look great, grey backs are better than black silhouettes, but without a real back, it's a no sale for me. Which is a shame, because the front art is really nice.

For those who are interested in playing with some of my unfinished 1/600 sky galleons work from years ago; dl.dropbox.com/u/2320000/SGOM/SGOM-rough_wips.zipMost are untested builds, some are lacking in texture. If you complete a piece please send me a pic so I can add it to the official downloads page at my site.

Has anyone seen this? I don't think I'll be supporting it, but there are some neat vehicle designs. Yup! Posted about this myself last week. I can't support it either but there is some really fun work in this project.

It is crazy, I love it! What is crazier is that I feel like I have seen something like it before. Did you post a WIP or is it just deja vue? Perhaps you're thinking of this WIP prototype that I knocked together when I was trying out CS2; I'm not using CS2 to work on models, but using a slightly newer version of Photoshop did serve to point out some issues, particularly processor lag, that Photoshop CS1 has on my system. So this year's push will be to sell enough models to buy a newer version of Photoshop, preferably something that works well with version 10.6 of MacOS.

Wow, that's a mouthful of latin, also sounds delightfully pretentious. ;D That one is a strong contender for the actual title, needs a different professor name though.

"Wrong Trousers!" LOVE that! Now I have to put a penguin in there! Working title. Eventually they'll need a name along the lines of "Professor _______'s Steam-Powered Sarabara", or something like that. I like the three-toed multi-ply idea, I'll have to do some rearranging on the page and give it a shot. The tank will probably be called the "Monotread Steam Ball".

Valid points, valid points. The uni-ball-steam-tank struts are now in two parts so they can be posed better. The wrong-trousers legs can go either way, they've been textured and are waiting for this weekends test-building. My main concern is that the legs be strong and balanced enough to hold a metal mini up, I think they will, but I need to check for certain.

I assume the engine box connects to the first round do-hickey out from the drive wheel. the facet that is opposite the gun, correct? and then on the other side, too, right? Correct. Thought that would be more interesting than the real-world solution of putting the engine inside the wheel. First build pics, the second one is what it looks like when you forget to glue a piece on; The wheel has an optional guard that pops on top, not glued here so the armor flap is blocking the view-plate. So, needs a different gun, too angular for all of the other curvy shapes. The outriggers will be broken into two parts for pose-ability options. Probably the oddest thing I've designed, not sure what to call it.
