Re. your sketch: Looks like it'd make a good sentry, the top view looks like it's off-balance though with all the weight at the rear. Perhaps move the center connector unit forward a bit?

The robot artist is named Nobody, he's still around on occasion. He has a few models in that style.

I've spent the past few days building my skelly horde; I was starting on the skeletons with glaives and decided to sweep the table as my workspace had gotten too small. It's a good feeling to have too much in this case. I've still got lots of cavalry, archers, and x-bows to buid and the skeleton pirates, zombies, ghosts and ghouls aren't in this pic. Once I have the horde complete I'll see about doing a nicely staged army shot.

I like the look of them, hard sc-fi looking guys all the way, I think their knees should be bent as if they've just sprung into the air. I think they need something to give them a little more appearance of dynamic motion.

Game playing distracting you from creating? I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago with this game I found called "HALO", maybe you've heard of it? I work on a Mac and there aren't many games for it that interest me, so I get more work done. Recently I upgraded my Paralells program (which allows me to run Windows on my Mac) and found that the HALO universe is now playable on my Mac....is it December already? One useful thing about video games (good ones) is that I get to see some good examples of texturing and model detailing techniques that I fully intend to incorporate into my own model and texture work...just as soon as I defeat the Covenant troops on the ship.

Looks cool. Only one hero, or a choice of hero figures to choose from? Dryw the Harper I've heard that it'll be kind of like the old GW game "Chainsaw Warrior" where you try to keep your hero alive while exploring an infested ancient facility. The "Hour" part of the title is because the player only has one hour of real-time to complete the mission. Apparently there are special rules for potty breaks. I'm somewhat excited and intrigued by this game so I've been following its development as close as possible.

No, they're not popular at all. I'm the only person I know who really likes them, everybody ate some of it because it was a novelty.

Drywtheharper - I like your work! Here's some tips that may make you happier with your work (as you sound a bit unhappy), I've picked these up from reading Floyd and Anita's comments. If you have access to any paint program that uses layers and blending modes (Paintshop Pro, Gimp, Photoshop) then this should be pretty easy. Should be. I think the scanning and reduction process is diluting your highlights so I used a soft brush (50% hardness) to blotch in more highlights on their own layer. Then I used the Gaussian Blur filter to soften everything and set the layer to Overlay. I then duplicated that layer and reduced it's opacity to 50%. I also went through with an eraser set to 50% softness to knock down areas that were too bright. I then selected the base image layer and dialed up the brightness and contrast a little bit. Before and after; Thank you very much for the Monks and Nighthunderch and I look forward to more great work from you.

Is PVA glue the same as Elmer's Glue, Tacky Glue, white or school glue? I've been reading several modeling websites and it seems that the European sites always refer to white glue as "PVA". I realize that the glues have different consistency and other properties, but are they are based on the same type of glue, or is PVA something completely different? To the best of my knowledge PVA/white glue/Elmers are the same thing. Tacky glue is a slightly different formula with less water content and is, well, tacky from the moment you use it. Aleene's is a brand readily available in the U.S. and it's what I use for most of my paper model work these days.

I'll make the GSD files if we figure out how to. It might be months though. If you want to go ahead Eric do so. For some reason though the turtles cutting files didn't work out for us. It is 3-4 pixels wider on the back. I wonder if it was because you didn't have the outlines separate from the black thick outlines? I can send you them if they help. Anita Hrm? Weird, they worked fine when I used them. Yes, do send them back so I can look again. Thanks.

I love that James Caan classic. I think that was the first movie I saw on Home Box Office. Heck, I might just build the 3d track because it is so fang cool looking. (Hey Darkmook can we get you do some figures for this along with your Roller Derby girls?) I've not seen Speedrally before. Anyone own it? Or played it? I'd be interested in knowing about it. That's great the guy built a 3d track for Circus Maximus that also contains REAL dirt from the original in Rome. Now that's taking the hobby to the next level. I can really appreciate that. ~F I played the first version, haven't tagged the upgrade yet, my review is here; papermakeit.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=72&func=view&catid=37&id=313

Hello,
If you liked "Speed Rally," you may be interested in another game I'm releasing this week -- this time for free!
When I was growing up I loved the movie Rollerball (not the awful remake, but the one and only 1975 distopian classic.) About a decade ago I designed a set of miniature rules to play this fictional future sport, and friends and I have had a lot of fun with it over the years.
For a variety of reasons, I have decided to release my game for free under Creative Commons licensing. (Due to copyright factors, the name is now Rulerball ... with an umlaut over the u, lol... but it is still the violent death sport you know and love.) For a short time you can download a PDF of the complete rules, track sections and playing pieces from my site, japenet.net (in the games section). Everything can be printed out on a standard color printer, and there are also guidelines as to how you can build your own 3-D arena.
Like I said, there are a variety of reasons I decided to release this game onto the net for free. If you and your friends really love the rules and want to make a donation of $5 or $10, I won't say no. In the meantime, I thought it was more important to finally share what is a great game (if I do say so myself) with passionate gamers who might want to play it.
Happy holidays!

From the Ganesha Games Song of Blades yahoo group;
I can officially announce that Ganesha Games, Papermakeit! and OneMonkMiniatures are working on a print-and-play solo boardgame set in the mad world of Mutants and Death Ray Guns. Papermakeit is working on the six floorplans, OneMonk on the paper miniatures that come with the game, and Ganesha is writing the rules.
We still have no definitive title for this baby.. we call it "Mutant Hour" for the moment... it's a solo scenario to be played in one hour. Your hero, the sole survivor of a Purity Squad, has exactly 60 minutes (of real time- yes, you play with a watch) to enter the six-level mutant hideout and kill the mutant leader before he unleashes a mutebomb upon the city.
Rules are based on MDRG but at the same time there are enough differences to make it its own game. It's simpler and faster, non-stop action, beat-the-clock first person shoot'em up boardgame.
Ideally, this will go on sale on Christmas if the Stars are Right... Andrea
Can I get a woot! ;D ;D

I've seen a lot of artists who, when drawing or sculpting Green Men, will cover up the difficult and confusing chest muscle arrangement that comes from having four upper limbs, will cover the musculature junctions with belts and pouches. 'Princess of Mars' the film is supposed to be out in 2012.

Squirmy might have but nothing official. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood I did convert one of the files, but I thought LordManimal was doing the lot of them so I redirected my energies, haven't heard from him in a while though... With Ms. Anita's permission I could send the one file I did set up.

I know it's single layered...but I was looking at it and thinking...You could do a second release of this with layers and call it the 'Fantasy version' and have layers that make it look like a wizards tower (arcane symbols and spell wards), dark temple (snakes overlaid into the stonework and curling around it) demon summoner (like the snakes version but with demonic faces and spell wards), necromancers tower (bones and skulls) and then by activating different layers you could have all kinds of magical funk on it. Just a thought.
