Wonderful tribute to the best space opera to ever hit the screen *ducks* I LOVE Wash best of all, and am glad you took the time to get him right. Book, Zoe, Kaylee, Simon, Jayne, all especially strong in their facial characterizations. Mal looks a little grumpier than I'd like to remember him, but both Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin's subsequent characters may be colouring my experience. Time is a-comin' for a marathon to reinvigorate my memory of, and my passion for, Firefly. Sadly, I only discovered it via Serenity, having previously given up on TV altogether... I dream of a kickstarted... The only figure in the set that isn't spot on, for me at least, is River. The muscular body shape looks wrong: she was waifish, hence it was always a surprise when power exploded from her slim frame, and she changed from damsel-in-distress to warrior-saviour. Still, it is in keeping with the heroic style established here on one monk... It's a good figure, just not a good River (imho).

Wow. Just Wow. Incredible attention to detail, terrific characterizations, rich colour and texture, unique and specialized poses, historical research for accuracy and character depth... No hesitation, this set is my favourite entry of all. [All that being said, I can't resist thinking that the the first thing I would do with this set would be this: Have my PCs encounter the company soldier on their walk home from the pub, late at night in an alley, with him facing to the wall ]

It's a fun set. I picture the elf in my mind's eye, spinning round using the stereo as a bludgeoning tool in close encounters. Unless, you know, it really _IS_ the eighties, and she's holding on to her precious cassette tapes for dear life

Great, strong female figure, and love the wolf pack, particularly the alpha female I've your minis from the Inked Adventures Encounters printed out, but not yet made up. I'll have to sharpen up a special #11 for them soon, as this set has been a great reminder of special style!

I love this set - looking forward to putting it together once the first couple of weeks of school have calmed down. I picked it up as part of Deadly Missions, and hope to play it with my son. I love the poses, the gear, the fluidity of the robes... great stuff.

Sorry to hear about the technical problems not letting you get the discount price. I forgot to remind people of the coupon expiring like I normally do yesterday too. Yeah its a good set, ten maps, and a very different flavor than many of our other maps. No worries. I've run into it before so I should have been better prepared, and it didn't help that I was waiting for Okumarts' new set(s) to drop. I love it, but I can wait, as I've no cause to put it to use yet. I'm still trying to track down the best method/venue for having battle maps printed up, as I've got a few that I'd like professionally printed out on a single large sheet of something.

The succubus (and the little grey demons) is from the Fantasy Monsters: Demons set from One Monk. Soon it'll show up again in the Mayhem in Paper store in RPGNow. Poke Squirmydad a little if you are in a hurry. I've been patiently waiting for the One Monk fantasy sets to be revamped for RPGNow; he's got so much on his plate right now. And this morning, up popped the first of the fantasy figures So I don't think it'll be too long now. Plus, there are so many delicious new Okumarts goodies, and the rest of Reivaj's Ant Warriors, and his Elven & Human Adventurers... So, I'm good for a couple of weeks of patience

Thanks! I'm pretty proud of the art on these figures. They're really not that tricky to cut out by hand, but the cutfiles for this set give a very close trim that really brings them to life. OldschoolDM had a really awesome photo of his build that does a great job of illustrating that. Hehehe, I'm probably overstating the difficulty of the cut there, but it's really more due to the crappy tools I seem to be saddled with. After trying two or three types of craft knife, I bought a 100-pk of #11 blades at my FLASS (that's Friendly Local Art Supply Store). Unfortunately, maybe because of the brand, maybe other reasons, these are near worthless. I've snapped off the very tip of at least one within the first five minutes, and I'm lucky if I can get through a full page of minis without a) having to resort to some detail scissors and/or b) having to start another new blade. And at some point, due to repetitive stress or a random event, I sprained(?strained?) the key first joint on my index/cutting finger. Dryw's Mage Guild was a PITA to cut under those circumstances, and this has far more in-and-outs than that set. Or perhaps I've just been too rushed, with too little free time these last few weeks. I really want to take my time and do your Blazin' Bones right, so I've held off for the time being. OldschoolDM did a beautful job there...

My submission: Deep down the bowels of a dungeon, the adventurers try to stop an ancient imprisoned evil from awakening. Great job pulling together so many pieces from different sources into a thematically and atmospherically unified whole - it looks terrific. P.S. Where did the succubus come from? I don't recognize her... she is so much nicer than the random one I got in my last Pathfinder booster.

Wonderful and humorous use of old favourites They are clearly failing their perception checks. I wonder, though, whether the junior guard's problem of blindly following his senior officer's lead is more because of a low wisdom score or lawful-stupid alignment?

WOW!! Great Diorama!! I love to see my ant lurking the Dryw´s adventurer´s basket or helping them to fight again the mimic. Excelent work!! ⁄¡Muchas gracias, Javier! I found your ants at just the right time, inspiring a whole encounter and likely a campaign-long companion (if the adventurers play their cards diplomatically). I looked over all the figures very carefully before choosing this particular ant, the standard-bearer bereft of standard. She was easy to convert to a low threat-level, all she required was a little judicious cutting. I printed her, (her friends), and a sheet of bases at 67% to match the scale of Dryw's child adventurers. You've got a fabulous grass texture, by the way Thanks for creating such a great collection of ant sets*, and for the best basing method for minis I've yet found! *please make a queen & her (peaceful) courtiers/gigolos (I'd say courtesans, but they are males)/larval offspring, should you ever find the time/inclination to further expand the line ;D

Whooping, belching and hollering with glee, a bloat of Tamus bandits rides into Scum City looking for trouble and mud. But Sheriff Ezekial Crumhorn and his notoriously grim jawline are having none of it! The Tamus swarm past Big Bob's Ballistic Bereavement Boutique on their frenzied warsheep, zappers and blasters blazing. 'Doc' Rumblegut, the notorious boss of the gang waves on his men. Sheriff Crumhorn is able assisted by Police Dog Buford, the only critter in Scum City with a jawline more notoriously grim than his own. They have absolute faith in the Kelt .45 plasma-stream revolver. These are fabulous fun! I can't wait to show them to my sons Excellent creativity, and great job capturing such character in the 'Tamus - but especially the bulldog, he's my fave.

Here is an undertakers parlor for a Weird West game. I started out remaking my assay office but it occurred to me that any good game of mystic strange old west adventures really needs an undertaker. Congratulations on your win! It's a great model, with lots of atmosphere. You did an excellent job of capturing the grit and grime, as well as the spooky, occult aura that apparently pervades your town. This model begs for an interior, though. The story possibilities are near endless, and that stained glass window printed separately onto a transparency would cast a wonderful glow (pall?!) over the scene...

You can always thicken them up with big black outlines. The good news is you had the guts to start. Congratulations on your first set. Thank you, cowboyleland, your inspiring comment spurred me to submit my own mini (rough as it is) to the contest. Now, I hardly expect to win any prizes, or more than a vote or two, but now I have a personal and public baseline from which to improve. I've gotten so much out of this great little forum, that I'd like to one day contribute something worthwhile of my own, and it's high time I got to working on getting there ;D

My first paper miniature designs. They have parts that are much too skinny for paper miniatures. Next time I won't make that mistake. You did a great a great job with these! I'll be sure to find a use for them I agree completely with cowboyleland (whose comment inspired me to submit my somewhat-less-ready mini), that it takes guts to go forward. You had a great idea, good drawing, and follow-through to the real world mini where you could see that it needed a little more tweaking to work. That's where we are at, the learning stages of this craft, and that last real-world building and tweaking is something that will never go away. And your set is far from the first that is more doable with a robo-cutter

Mesper, I'm very sad that the confusion and conflict arose that caused you to withdraw your submission. It was a most worthy and excellent one, and would have certainly been a strong contender for the best in class. Thank you very much for your generosity in sharing the set with us, and for doing a special edition for the Cardboard Warriors that includes the enhancement in contention. I'll have to track down some transparencies so that I can fully integrate that into a future build of the figure. I've a simpler idea in the meantime...

Tus figuras siempre me gustan, Javier Aquí mi parte preferido es la textura de su "chain mail" (not going to look that up, not something I ever needed to know when I lived in Mexico, years ago), y tambien su capa azul. I looked that up, thinking I had known it at one time - it's enano for those looking to learn!) Translation: Your minis are always pleasing to me, Reijav Here, my favourite part is the texturing on his chain mail, and also his blue cape. However, I'm a little confused as to what is happening with the red "cape" behind his legs. It works well to eliminate the space between his legs [for cutting and structural purposes], but doesn't follow the movement of the other cape, either in the wind or by the dwarf's own movement. But that small thing doesn't negate the overwhelmingly positive response I have to this piece. A strong stance, this dwarf looks ready, willing, and able to charge into battle against any dungeon foe! A great beginning for your next set! Unless you'd like to give the Ant Queen a set of her own, first

I like the character that comes across in this mini; he's the best dressed goblin I've ever seen, and seems quite well equipped to survive on the road I agree with mad architect, and find the way the colour is applied to be really neat. It provides an interesting dimensionality to his clothing and shield that I find unexpected but very pleasing.

She is exquisite! I love the juxtaposition of Victorian and modern, and your originality in portraying a Steampunk character. Having read the original novels when they were first published (without being swept away in the ensuing obsession with the genre), I've been a tad disappointed by the repetition and regurgitation of tired tropes for such a young genre (gloomy colours limited to browns/plums/blacks, how many people would really be wearing goggles?, etc.) Not here - you've chosen a colour as bold as the adventuress herself, added a veritable plethora of historical details and costume inspirations, created a weapon and a backstory for her - nay, a whole fashionable ladies' magazine!. I am very impressed! Excellent submission! I can't wait for her to be released, and will have to find a game to play her in

Really? It's Tuesday morning here haha. Oh well, I have to go to work. Maybe next year ^^ Alaska time is funny, it's kind of like living on the moon. At least you're not at the opposite end of the continent, having to contend with being up earlier than anyone else, and a half-hour off everybody, like my friends in Newfoundland & Labrador.

While I find the blank eyes a little off-putting, I really enjoy this mini, especially all the little accoutrements hung around his person. At first I thought those little details might get lost at tabletop scale, but shrinking the image down (albeit only on my computer screen), they still are clear enough, and lend more visual interest to the character. I like his firmly planted, ready-for-action stance, and the strong build. This is clearly a battle-hardened mage who knows what he's doing. Great job!

Sadly, I dallied too long with my wish list and missed this. My shopping cart kept resetting the price as it logged me out every few minutes so I missed the deadline. Next time I'll not wait until the last minute. Hopefully by then I'll have found a place for it at my gaming table, rather than just covet it It's beautiful, and I wish it'd been included in the fantasy super package I bought back in June, but it's certainly strong enough to stand on its own. And unique among your sets!

Though it's unlikely you're still up, and I hope that the problem will have fixed itself by the time you (& I) get up, sadly the product shows up on the site's front page, but clicking on it says the product is unavailable. It's also not turning up on your company page.

So what's your impression/response - is it worth to start such a thread? Yes, I believe it would. Now, I don't have much talent for drawing, finding it rather intimidating, but it would be nice to turn my doodles into something more than that. The "common knowledge" tips & tricks aren't always so commonly known Each person's process may be different from idea through execution, so I think more than just newbies would benefit.

I like Lich Warlord best, but Lich Reaper also appropriate. I wouldn't see any problem with using Lich King if it were appropriate to the figure, because WoW is far from the first (just the most overblown) to use that title. This lich looks rather more elite warrior than king, so warlord is my vote.

Did we suddenly become massively popular? The ads are back... Unfortunately the secret is out and we've become popular. Once we become boring again the ads will disappear. The curse of fame. How much does it cost to upgrade? I'm not concerned about the ads, but wasn't there also previously the option to host images or something? If we knew the options & costs, some of us may want to pitch in and help enhance the features for the community

Images added back in, thanks Nik! These builds are the wonderful work of Jerry Jensen, now known as the Mastermind behind Mystic Mountain Productions. Thanks so much Nik! These look fantastic, very creative and very detailed. The passion Jerry has for modeling certainly shows through here - small wonder he started up Mystic Mountain. I've got one of his models, the Bakery I think, but haven't yet built it. Another project to bump up the queue... next are the sampans, though

Hrm, I'm not finding those image files anywhere...maybe Nik has them. :/ Maybe they've just vanished in the mists of time. I've managed to find about half the stuff I look for using the Internet Archive (archive.org), but I don't think I tried the one monk site yet. Unfortunately, pictures and attachments are only saved some of the time, along with the text and coding.

Thanks for those links, Anne. Never ceases to amaze me how many things I've failed to properly investigate on the paper modelling front... That vegetation is the perfect match for Dryw's figures. If you come across any similar bramble undergrowth or other thorny hedges (roses, etc.), I'd be happy to know about those too! Will do! (Be sure to check all the other terrain links on that Oversoul Games downloads page, it includes palm trees, Japanese cherry trees in blossom, and savannah grasses, among other things.) I think they also go perfectly with Inked Adventures outdoor tiles (all two of them), to give the out-of-doors the same extra-dimensions his 3D doors give his dungeons. I'll have a go at drawing a few of my own one day, but for now these work great. Plus I need to replace my laser toner to print anything to green now... have to wait until I can deplete the other colours as much
