ok I'm going to loose all credibility (that's assuming I had some to start with LOL ) here and say.... I really liked the movie John Carter ...... ok ok I know , I know it was terrible but I really liked it! it was campy, stupid and porly acted but for what ever reason I saw it at the right moment when I was in the mood for something really stupid and , well just weird. I think I'm going to throw in on this one and make some of those green for armed tusked guys .... hate me if you want to but at least I can die with a clear conscience now LOL Don't feel ashamed Aaron because I liked it too
I agree about it being campy. stupid & etc, but somehow it worked.

I took the liberty of doing greyscale backs. It took less than 5min, so if you feel I have trodden on any toes, I can take these down again, easily done as said. That looks good, now it's possible to tell if they're coming or going.

I think this is a terrific way to look at adding the 3D aspect in a non-traditional way. Excellent out-of-the-box (or cross, as it may be) thinking! I like this approach to 3D terrain too. Simple, but very effective.

I love seeing your workbench pictures Aaron Your jump pack troops look great. I particularly like the pose of the first mini wearing the helmet.

Welcome to the forum Arclight Your figures look really great and are certainly types that are useful to any RPG gamer or wargamer. I certainly will be following your progress with great interest. squirmydad, now that's really interesting about the above and below vs side by side layout question because with my own paper creations I've tended to use the side by side layout; - not that I'm any sort of expert, - far from it!

It's worth checking through the full range of paid-for products too, as many of those also have an additional free item available as a sample. For those who may prefer to pay in US Dollars, some - but not all - of their products are also available via DrivethruRPG and RPGNow. wildagreenbough: Not sure if you're still looking for tarmac roads, but the Black Ronin webpage has two sets of printable city roads and slab-pavements, British style, each of which includes a downloadable freebie to test-print first, here and here. The first of those sets, which has separate sets of railway lines included too, is also available on the two OBS sites - this is the DriveThru link. Cool, thank you very much for the links My project is on hold at the moment because my daughter is setting up a dedicated print server for our home network so I can only play with what I've already got printed out in hard copy. Once it's all done though I will be good to go and can get to work on building up a patch of rundown urban grottiness for aliens & etc to invade.

Well, that artist has done all the hard work, now it's up to us to do the backs! Something tells me that I might find that a bit tricky
Paper minis with no backs are confusing because I can never tell if they are coming or going. I found that out when I created my own Silk Road Elves with only an 'A' side, - which is why I started to create backs for them.

Much of WWGs pre-TLX stuff is available for sale at Paizo.com. Look it over carefully, though, as some things like Hinterlands are in two sets, and others, like the minis, are much more expensive @ WWGs own site. As for other modern streets, there are several options. I believe Warm Acre has some, and another contemporary mostly battlemap maker whose name escapes me at the moment. I'll have to get back to you when I'm at my computer next. My laptop needs a new screen. ;( Thanks for the links and suggestions Anne Warm Acre will be good because they have the road markings on the proper side of the road.
With your poor laptop it's a pity that you don't live closer to me because I'm a dab hand at changing over laptop screens.

Cool! - you've got Battlemaster. I have the map, the cards and all the cardboard parts, but some rotter nicked off with all the minis in the box.
