Crayola Supertip Markers. Oh, and Crayola Colored Pencils. I guess I'm just old fashioned. Dryw the Harper And do you draw them large and shrink them or draw them as they are?

Hi, Dryw.
I like these figures; particularly the drunken carousers.
I was thinking that it would be useful to have a few mysterious cloaked figures, whose faces are either fully are partially obscured by the hoods of their cloaks. These would be the furtive bearers of secret messages or omens, or unidentified intruders in the night. I can't tell you how many times this sort of figure would have come in handy.
Some possibilities could include: - mysterious noble woman and man, courtesans or courtiers in fine cloaks - mysterious lower class man and woman in slightly tattered cloaks - mysterious hunched old woman and/or man in ragged, patched cloak - mysterious person of unknown gender in dark (green, brown, blue?) cloak. - mysterious figure in dark cloak with skeletal hand showing
Actually, you could make hooded or cowled versions of the thief-like characters in the blue and green cloaks from this first set. That way, when the PCs first encounter them, they are unidentified; but as the encounter or campaign progresses their identity might be revealed.
Cheers,

Holy mackerel! You are prolific, Dryw! Thank you so much for providing us with these great minis.
May I ask what you use to color these?

Thanks for posting these, Dryw. In the not so distant future I'm planning to take my PCs into the Anauroch desert (Forgotten Realms), and these nasty fellows will come in handy. I'm dming in Forgotten too! But i'm going to focus in the north, the fey'ri as primary antagonists to the players. I'm playing 4E rules in the 2E Realms. The PCs started in northern Cormyr and are currently in Daggerdale.

COMING SOON.... ADVENTURERS 3. This set of eight adventurers will include a Warrior with a 2-handed sword, a Bard, a Dwarven Priestess (for Afet), a Sorcerer, a Female Cleric, a young Knight, a Tiefling Warrior/Rouge, and a Female Tiefling Rouge (the Tieflings were an experiment). The set is laid out and is waiting for my wife to wave her magic wand and turn it into a PDF. Hopefully it will post before the end of the day. As always, use adventurers responsibly (loot tombs, battle evil necromancers, hunt down Orc raiders...) Dryw the Harper You are the best, Dryw. I can't wait to see these.

These are very nice figures, Gatchaman. I like the shaded version of the archer. My only suggestion there would be to have him holding the arrow by the flight; or better yet: reaching for an arrow.
I'm looking forward to seeing some more finished minis from the first post.
Cheers,

Hi, Xtea.
I love your draft horse. I love the musculature and the dynamism. I was wondering if you had an earlier version without the harness. I would like to be able to use this same horse as a large riding horse. I would need to work out some sort of saddle, but a version without the pulling harness would be a big help.
In the future, if you were to come up with barding for this beauty, you would have the thanks and praise of many, I´m sure.
Also, if I may, I would like to suggest for the Knight Horse, that you have at least three legs on or near the ground. I say this because it would add stability to the miniature. You could possibly add grass or other vegetation to attach raised hooves to the base. I´m planning to slot paper mini riders onto the saddle.
Cheers,

Dryw, these are amazing. Just the other day, I was lamenting not having a mother holding a baby. And I routinely need a stable boy to care for the PCs horses. Speaking of horses, you did such an awesome job with those camels, that I'd love to see a riding horse and/or a warhorse from you. Xtea's big Belgian is beautiful, but it's harnessed to pull, rather than ride. Also I'd love to see horses in your style. It's easy to put paper minis on horseback by simply cutting a small slot on the horse's back, and another at the bottom center of the mini. I've done this to mount Orcs on Dire Wolves, and it worked brilliantly. When your rider is unhorsed or dismounts, you just pop her back into her base. I'll take a picture tonight and post it. Thanks again for these Dryw.

I actually like how the two Street Urchins came out. Useful contacts in a city, useful guides, and useful as comic relief or for the characters to have to rescue. Dryw the Harper I like the children too. Speaking of children, I often use adolescent NPCs as stable boys; farmer's son/daughter; servants; chamber maids; messengers; etc. Also, I think a villager woman holding a baby would be useful. Just to be clear, I'd love to see these additions to general fantasy characters, not the Desert Folk.

Hi, Scarecrow. Hi, all. Over the holidays, I ran a special two session adventure, in which the good Doctor makes an appearance in his Tardis and helps the PCs overcome an enclave of mindflayers. I thought you might like some pics. Note: the paper dungeon terrain is by Fat Dragon Games. The hook horror mini is made from a scan of the Monster Manual image. And a special thanks to Adamsouza for the mindflayer mini. Cheers,

Awesome. Once again, you've come up with some excellent and practical characters. Thanks particularly for the three more heavily clothed women. I appreciate it. I like the sultan a lot. I can picture him seated on a divan or a mound of cushions with hooka at his side. It might be worth mentioning that Tom at Fat Dragon Games has a desert/Egyptian set in the works. Cheers,

Greetings from the desert once more. I have another page of Desert Figures laid out and almost ready to post. It includes a large Bodyguard character, an adventuring Prince and his Maiden companion, a Sultan for important meetings, a Merchant Vendor for the market square, a pair of Musicians (pipes and drums) to supply music for the previously released Bellydancers, a couple of Street Urchin children to either pick characters' pockets, act as guides in a strange city, or be threatened by out of control wagons, and a trio of Desert Women in traditional robes instead of dancing girl outfits (for Afet). ;D Dryw the Harper I can't wait to see them! Thanks Dryw

Afet, Just so you know, it has been so long since I played D&D (1st edition with the little, tiny books, 2nd edition, and a little 3rd edition) that I didn't even know what a Tiefling was (had to Google it). Not to mention Dragon Born (the rules only had Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, and Halflings back in the day). The idea of creating Tiefling pieces is of interest, but I doubt I will be able to do justice to Dragon Born (not a good dragon artist myself). Dryw the Harper No problem. Those were just some ideas. The traditional canon fantasy races you're producing are fantastic. I actually favor the 2nd edition Forgotten Realms Tieflings, who were not significantly different from other humanoids in their appearance. Rather, they differed in terms of their demonic heritage and its effects; although they were never developed--as far as I'm aware-- into a PC race in 2e. Cheers,

Now Jabbro's bartender and barmaid have someone to serve food and drinks to. Dryw the Harper I'd love to see you do a barmaid and a bartender in your style as well. Maybe your bartender could be a corpulent woman, and your barmaid could be carrying a trencher of food. You could have a big lout of a bouncer as well. Once again, thank you so much for these. I used a bunch of your minis this weekend and my players loved them. cheers,

Afet, Do you mean typical robed and covered desert women for background characters on the streets and in encampments? Dryw the Harper The wouldn't have to necessarily be covered burka style. But something more modest and practical than belly dancing attire would be good. Cheers,

I love these desert folk. Would it be possible to have some females that aren't scantily clad. These dancing girls look pretty, but they would fry under the desert sun.

This looks great, Tabris. I'm a big fan of Bhoritz's style. Are you going to do a rear view as well? I'd love to see more of these FR NPCs; perhaps Purple Dragon mounted lancers, or Zhents, or Waterdeep city guards, or militia from Shadowdale. I've suggested doing Fantasy NPCs for the Feb. figure hoard. If that flies, maybe you could submit this Purple Dragon Knight. Coincidentally, I'm planning to run the "Four From Cormyr" adventure in the near future. I'm playing 4E rules in the 2E Forgotten Realms time-line. It's actually very easy to adapt 2E FR fluff to 4E crunch. I'm trying now to focus my efforts in Vectorial Art, so i could make fully original minis instead of just Mods. Also, i think that doing it vector style will make it faster and open the possibilities for true rear view. I'm thinking about expanding on Forgotten Realms minis when i'm good enought to make decent minis with Inkscape, so wait and see. I looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Cheers,

I changed the angle a little, hope it looks fine now. Now i'll go the hard way and make some other base soldiers for other nations and factions from Forgotten Realms, them i'll expand them slowly but surely. This looks great, Tabris. These are beautiful, Jabbro. Have you considered making a few treasure pile pieces? It would neat to have treasure pieces that could be used individually or slotted into the 3D treasure pile in FDG's E-Z Dungeon set: www.fatdragongames.com/fdg0059.htmlTreasure of various sorts would be useful in all sorts of contexts.
