Madness! I am speechless. These samurais are GREAT! They will populate the continent of Yu (which lies in our homebrewn campaign world) i I have to dig out some of those old Kara-tur adventures and play them soon with the troupe. Ape monkey against the Mandarin King. I feel inspired now! HAI-HOW! KARATEEEE!!!! BTW: Again a big thank you for this set, Dryw.

Dryw draws more with the hand and jabbro does more with the computer, But both are absolutely great and a live saver for those who want to get rid of their plastic mini addiction.
I have over 2k prepainted WotC plastic minis, bought the last 20 months. Everywhere i am looking in my appartement there are those plastic dragons and plastic lizardmen and plastic orcs (even in our kitchen) there and there and everywhere.
But now its enough. In the future I just use only paper minis anymore. And most of them are from you both and onemonk. So many thanks and best wishes to you all for allowing this.

I really want to start the castle set that I have planned for like a year now. Other than that I'd like to see some Fimir (I'll probably do this as a free set eventually) and HEROES! The paper world is seriously missing out on some Player Characters. Clerics, assassins, druids, and dwarfs seems to be seriously underrepresented (Another thing I might remedy). great idea. I agree that PCs are somewhat underrepresented. Last month I played the last session of my action warhammer module "Temple of the Fimir gods". (with Savage worlds rules) It was great and Fimir are great too. Sadly they have the same fate like dragon-ogres and remain only a secondary race of the setting. my wishes are rather conventional (typical 4eDnD stuff) -drow -duergar -dragonborn -tieflings -genasi -the new range of dnd elementals like ice archons, thunderfuries or rockfire elementals -asian inspired set -gitzerai, githianki -shadar kai -many more monsters of 4e Monster Manual 1 and 2.

The norseman are really cool. Thanks alot again Dryw. with your minis now I can stage adventure in many more cultures in my campaign world. Its a kind like xmas to me.
As an inspiration for your next set: how about a far east of kung-fu monks, samurais, ashigarus, asian civilians (eg, rice farmers or geishas?)
BTW: does anyone know where to get a paper model viking house? Thanks.

So I just bought the Monsters of Game Mat Set of Cerberus on rpgnow.
My first impression is quite good. The monsters are nicely drawn and I think I can use them alot in my games.
But there are some backdraws though which make them not as professional as the lines of onemonk...
-only the new set Demons and Devils (Set 6) do have backs, Set 1-3 just have 2 fronts glued together
-many of the monsters are not properly scaled to 28mm. This means you have to scale them by yourself.
This are not real biggies. As I already said they are nicely drawn and some of them are unique motives which have no substitute as onemonk papermini, so I will of course use them. And for 3,95 they have an ok price.

The great 17th century style of these figs are also very practicable to play warhammer with. For example in countries like estalia or tilea. (sartosa pirates)
I think this style is a kind of gap. One will find several standard medieval minis for the typical fantasy adventurers. But minis with a little bit more modern adanced clothings (16th or 17th century, like during 30 years war, DnD Eberron, roundhead period in england, warhammer or solomon kane) there is not much on the net. At least I didnt find many nice minis suitable for this time period. (till dryws set was uploaded of course)

Now finally we can play in the planes using paper minis. Spelljammer and City Sigil (with the new swashbuckler set) is waiting!
Dryw, you, your output and the quality of your minis are gorgeous. You should change your avatarname to Santa Claus. ;D

Georgeous! Many many thanks for putting these purple goodies up, Dryw. I especially love the elementals und jinns. The sand elemental reminds me to a sandminion mini of mageknight. Did this mini inspire your drawing?
Super and thumbs up!

I meant it somewhat differently. English is not my native tongue so please forgive me if some sentences or vocabularies are sounding quirky or odd.
What I meant is that if I print out the fumes on a transparency will possibly strenghten their smokey appearance.
As Waffle mentioned already, a 15mm is too small for this so I will try to enlarge them to 28mm to check my theory.

I dont understand a single word spanish (except paella or such tourism things I am from Austria and beside german I just am able to write a little bit English. At least there are some pictures, so I can orientate myself more or less. But thanks for your offer. edit: now I found what floyd meant. very good. btw: I like the models. finally a vtol for my scifi. BTW: it seems these spanish guys do have a lot of fun. I just looked at other parts of the site and saw their live pictures. Reminds me to my own past where I used to construct plastic swords and played LARPs.

About thirty years ago, I made some merchandise lists for various cities in my campaign and figured out some price differentials, so that characters could gain gold pieces and experience by engaging in trade as overland adventures, and not have to go in the dungeons at all, if that's what they wanted to do. Your camels remind me of those halcyon days! Have fun! Steve yes. one use camels not only in deserts. they are usable in many exotic environments. This reminds to look on the internet for other exotic fantasy animals capable of transporting goods. (giant lizards lurking around in underdark trade centers or flying giant birds for the typical fantasy air trading company)

I'm glad you all seem to like them, I must admit I've already made a dozen camels for my own use at this point. They came out better than I expected. For those of you glad to see them, you should give thanks to Enpeze who attacked the different Forum boards in search of camels. I wouldn't have tried making them if not for his continuing search. As a side note, my next post will probably be a Bishop, Priest, and Church Guards for use in Fantasy campaigns. It may be posted later today. Oh, Enpeze, I also have a Djinn I'm experimenting with, along with a couple of Desert Elves. But they're probably still a week off as I am in the middle of a few other pieces I need for my own game at the moment. Dryw the Harper Cool. I would love to see your djinns. AFAIR there are not many of them floating around. I am wondering why they are not that popular. ATM I planning a desert game with your camels and (hopefully) also with your djinn if you find time to load him up. Regarding the camels. You are right. It was a kind of typical Austrian camel raid I guess . But the loot of this raid is purple for everyone who plays in deserts (I am sure thats not just me) because your drawing is great. Thanks again.

Wow... great idea. I really like the smoke trail... that looks great, even if it's not transparent in the final version. possibly one could print out the smoke on overhead transparencies?

For speed, I suggest you open the colored figures in a new image file in Photoshop or similar. Change the figures to grey scale. On a layer above the figures, set the layer to multiply, and use the paint tools to color the figures. Once done, you can choose a different transparentcy type to boost the color saturation, since blending the colors in grey scale will make them all muted. If you have no idea what I just wrote, buy a book on digital painting, and teach yourself. JIM ah, ok. so I use photoshop. many thanks for the tipps. I will try it.

I would like to ask the profs, how you recolor the onemonk-minis?
I have photoshop and illustrator, but I am not sure whats the best way to recolor without changing the gadients or to select every small part of the mini with the selection tool.
Possibly you can give some hints? Is it only possibly if I do in illustrator when I have the file as vector graphics?
Many thanks for your help.

Great. Now I will try some to give some of anitas angels transparency wings. (as soon as I am back at the printer in my company)
A question to sithcundman. How did you make the transition from the paper to the the transparency? Just inserting some transparency from the flame as sandwich between the 2 paper layers of the girl? If yes doesnt this bulge up the corner of the paper girl a little bit?

I was thinking of making the ghosts for my undead army on transparecies. Figured I'd just print the fronts. Haven't got around to it becuase I wanted to make a few more ghosts, for more variety before I did it. I do already use transparencies to print WWG chain link fences, and I'm pretty happy with the effect. The only downside to using transparencies is that they aren't as rigid as double thick and glues 110lb cardstock. how about using 3 layers of transparencies instead of 2 or one? So you can do a "sandwich" where you have a colored transparency in between 2 blank transparencies. Maybe could this have more "glossy"effect?

One thing I had in mind is to use overhead transparencies for a certain type of minis.
For example Wotc use for their prepainted plastic minis (elementals or angels) often some semi- transparent plastics. I really like this approach. Its beautiful to look at. Especially the more modern minis from 2009 are looking really good with this transparent plastic (eg. the chillborn, the spectre or the angel of valor)
So how do you think are the chances to apply a similar effect for onemonk minis? Printing out on overhead transparencies?
Worldworks had a similar idea with the sailsystem of its maiden ship. I never assembled it, but I read about using transparencies for the rigging of the ship. So I guess it should work.
Or how about mixing transparent parts of a mini and traditional cardboard? Eg. a fire archon has a cardboard head, chest and weapon while the rest of the mini is overhead transparency?

I am playing atm a Warhammer FRPG with Savage Worlds rules. In the pipeline there is a continuation of my Katapesh AP Legacy of Fire (Pathfinder) which I play also with Savage worlds (call me a SW fan BTW: many thanks for drywtheharper whose arabian folk paper minis will be great for my Katapesh game. In the far future (mid next year) I am planning to convert several 4th edition modules from WotC into Savage Worlds.
