Cool! I used top play in the pillboxes around where I used to live, both around the town and on the coast at Mersea Island (https://www.tracesofwar.com/sights/22952/Pillbox-FW3-22-East-Mersea.htm)

Back when I was a young arseling, I used to make plastic model kits. I really liked the Matchbox WWII vehicle kits, as they often had a diarama with them, for example the PzKpfw II: The theme for this month's horde reminded me of the model kits, so I thought I'd give on of them a bash. I used to use the scenery bits when I played with the models and 1/72 nd scale soldiers, as they made good cover/ambush sites. It's only work in progress at the moment, as I think the building wall needs a bit tidying up and I want to do th ematching base. But here is my take on the Matchbox Panzer II diarama:

It's not really meant for use with mini's (it's just a fun and modular way to represent village maps - for RPGs). Aha.

Getting back to the tiny terrain this/next month ... I know the pencil gives a good indication of scale, but what fits best, 2 or 6 mm?

Nigh on two decades ago, the littlest one was having an afternoon nap and the bigger ones were outside playing. On the table was one of Little One's Moomin books, paper and colouring pens and pencils. It had a silly idea, so I drew Moomin Troll, but with angry eyes, claws and a spieky tail. I held it up to show mummy and said " Dark Moomin! MUWHAHAhahahaa!". Just as the Mrs rolled her eye, we heard a small, but sinister voice say " Dark Moomin! MUWHAHAhahahaa!". After that, it became a bit of an in-family joke. We even came up with a parody of the Moomin song: Here they come now, one and all Moomins are about to fall From the light into the dark Carying the torch of Satan's spark They are Dark Moomins They are Dark Moomins They are Dark Moomins MUH-HA-HA-hahahahahaa MUH-HA-HA-hahahahahaa MUH-HA-HA-hahahahahaa... Finally, after nearly 20-years, I give you a dark, moody, troll: To be honest though, we we're really convinced that the dark moomins are actually evil, rather there valley is a cruel, unfirgiving place to live and survival is always a fight. But, it's up to you...

Well, early 2020, the old girl went to the great hunting ground in the sky Very sad, but she was old. She went from being perfectly fine and frisky when I got up for work at a quarter to five in the morning, to not being able to eat or drink, trying to hide and so on by midday. We knew she wouldn't last another 24 hours, so I took her to the vet, who agreed. She was old and had a good life with us. For some reason, she had made the printer one of her beds/perches, why? Don't know. But, I had to cover the printer in plastic to stop the hairs getting in. I also put a nice thick cushion on it to make it more comfortable for her. Last summer, the printer died, but I can write about that without tearing up and we got a nice tank printer. Yesterday, one of my boys asked me to print up a photo for him. I gave the top a quick wipe over and thought how I don't need to cover it up any more. Sulo, the big, black, fluffy beast has never sat on the printer. This morning, getting ready for work, I heard the sound of creaking plastic... I mean, just why, goddammit, why?

Cool! Reminds me of the card figures you used to get with Weetabix back in the '70s.
Now, does anyone have a nice floor plan of Brigg's freighter for Adric to play in?

I tried googling "бумага аэропорту игра для детей", but just got mostly computer games. We await the results of your reconstruction gave the wrong answer because the wrong question was asked!!! It was necessary at least like this:аэропорт из бумаги or модель аэропорта Not surprised. My knowledge of the Russian language is limited to Google translate

Seems to be a theme here! When our second youngest moved out, his old room became the Man-Cave! Not very big, well, pretty small infact, but at least if I am mid-something-or-other, I don't have to put everything away and get it out again each time. I can spurge.

I actually was hoping to see different takes on this. Maybe I will change the first one to Extra-Terrestrial Colony. Just out of interest, by Extra-Terrestrial, do you mean a human colony on another planet/moon or a colony of extra-terrestrials?

I have been cataloging the shield patterns for the Dark Age/Viking groups in Finland and the Ålands, drawing them in SVG format, so that they can be used anywhere at any size. Speaking of Procrastinating ... I am going to try to work on this after phone calls today I had something for the Procrastination Horde, but then found I couldn't do want I wanted to do with LibreOffice Draw, so I switched to Inkscape. I'm not so much procrastinating, rather learning a new application. Oh, and I need to get this done before I get back to my own models (other than kit-bashing Dave's that is...): I have been cataloging the shield patterns for the Dark Age/Viking groups in Finland and the Ålands, drawing them in SVG format, so that they can be used anywhere at any size. Most were easy, as they are just simple geometric shapes, even the one for Vanajan Sudet ( Old Wolves) (bottom right) wasn't too difficult. However, the one for Huskarlarna ( Housecarls/Huscarls), came out weird and wobbly. LibreOffice Draw can't make line thicknesses scaleable, so they are either single pixel wide (regardless of image size) or a fixed width in millimetres/inches and GIMP only does raster image formats. I've now got the hang of joining and chopping paths in Inkscape, so things are speeding up. Hopefully, for 2022, they is a suitable horde for scenery, or else my efforts will have to wait for next December (or I can stick them under my WH40K thread).
