Wonderful! I might be tempted back to Vic Sci-Fi and Steampunk again with models like these on offer.

Welcome back I too live with a chronic illness and I'm supported by an Invalids pension. Fatigue is something I live with every day and very much know what it's like to suddenly fall asleep without warning. Recently I fell asleep holding a cup of tea and spilled it over myself which actually failed to wake me so I can very much empathise with you. Paper modelling helps to keep my brain working and it makes me happy, so do please keep working on your project as creative hobbies are very therapeutic for anyone who lives with an illness.

Wow, wow and double wow! The crouching green haired Feral who is almost clothed by her hair is my favourite.

Does it include a banana golem? No, but one of the monsters is a Banana Pudding. Highly likely to be swiftly defeated by a horde of hungry children armed with spoons

I've been busy with downloading the Laketown houses and terrain now that I've gone over to the SEA SIDE
With working on getting myself organised to become a paper shipwright I need to have somewhere for ships to unload and dock so it seemed to me that a Laketown type model would be spot on to fulfill that role.
I wonder how Grendelsmother is getting on with his own model of Laketown.

When I'm in need of ship to ship combat in a Fantasy/Swashbuckling setting, I actually use the ships and rules from the Pirates of the Spanish Main tabletop, as the ships are of course perfect and the rules are really easy and fast-paced. You could perhaps use the same rules with 28mm ships by simply upscaling the rules. For distance measuring use the long and short side of a regular sheet of paper (A4 or US Letter) instead of a card. The rest of the rules would stay the same (every canon/catapult within range may fire, rolls could be taken from the game you use for the rest of the setting, etc.). The rules for Pirates of the Spanish Main should be on the internet somwhere... Thanks shep I'll have look for those rules and have a play about with them. Rhannon, - yes I saw the Firefly paper figures and was tempted by them as I have the Serenity DVD. I'm trying to stay away from Sci-Fi at the moment as I'm trying to complete my Fantasy projects first,

While poking about looking for paper minis I found these very nice mostly Viking styled boats and ships. Paper Boats and ShipsTheir creator also has some excellent terrain pieces for creating a Laketown type model as well. Something I've always wanted to try is a battle on water, or even a waterborne invasion of a town. The only problem with 28mm vessels is that they tend to take up a lot of room even when kept to models of smaller sized vessels, only I don't want to use a smaller scale as I like to be able to actually see the models I'm playing with. Not so long ago I played around with a pair of river gunboats built from Lego in a Vic Sci-Fi/Colonial/Dinosaur Hunter type scenario which was a lot of fun, but it did confirm that playing on a 4ft X 7ft surface with a pair of smallish river gunboats scaled for Lego Minifigs was a tight squeeze. I'm not daunted though and I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out. Any suggestions for a ruleset that would work well for Fantasy/Dark Ages type ships and boats? With the river gunboats I was using Brikwar rules which largely work according to Chaos theory combined with sheer audacity so they wouldn't really be suitable for 'serious' wargaming.

I think mproteau makes good points and almost gives the solution: try moving the mounted archer to the upper left corner. "Pay what you want" at DTRPG awaits! Yes my Visa debt card awaits too

The title heading for the cover is excellent and changing the background colour for the map has made the model figure artwork really stand out. I love it and would definitely want to buy the set on the basis of what I can see on the cover.
Edit: The Jara Jara birds at the bottom of the cover look like they're racing and that's a detail I really like.

Your campaign deserves to be exposed to the widest possible audience. As I've mentioned before terrain pieces for Elves are a rarity and your campaign very much answers the need for good high quality terrain specifically for Elves.

Ok, pep talk time. Now I happen to own a copy of OakumArts's Wood Elves and yes they are very nice and yes the guy is talented, BUT don't you dare go selling yourself short Aaron. Your Splinterwood Elves are inspired, dynamic and original and I'm certainly not following this thread and cheering you on just to pass the time. So there you go, deep breath, shoulders back and get yourself back to your sketch pad because you're a brilliant artist and storyteller.

Um..... to be completely honest I think I'd much prefer to carry on with the peaceful Zen moments of doing my cutting by hand. If I had to do all that to a PDF before I could get a machine to do the cutting I'd end up pulling out my hair in handfuls.

I'll go and spread the word on Ulthuan.net as I'm sure the members there will be very interested.

Don't macaws live in forests? Yes they do, which makes me wonder if that would be the direction to go for the Jara birds.

Oh my, what a superb storyteller you are Aaron. I am very much enjoying reading the tale of the Splinterwood as it unfolds.
Qellduvinen is magnificent, I've seen plenty of interpretations of what a Dryad looks like, but yours is the best I've ever seen.
The knight with his banner looks great, but I'm not sure about what colour the Jara Birds should be either. Red certainly looks striking, practical common sense says that brown should be the colour for a forest dwelling bird, only that's a bit boring.

Things are definitely looking up for my Forces of Nature army, though with my printer going futt it has put a spoke in the works until I can find a replacement. Part of tonight's model making session was spent on the continuing labour of cutting out the One Monk Halloween Tree as I'm using it as the centre piece of one of my unit bases (KoW ruleset). It's a marvellous tree, but I'm glad I'm only going to be using one of them! It will be very nice when I can make a start on basing up Aaron's lovely Splinterwood Elves and I'm very much looking forward to that.

My old HP 640c printer died tonight. Seems to be that some of the circutry that controls the movement of the print cartridges has gone futt. I'm going to see if I can replace it (with yet another second hand) photo quality A4 printer which would be a step up in the print quality stakes. My printer dying was very annoying though as I wanted to print off some timber floor textures as well as some RPG Wizard's lerkum type furniture so I could make a start on the tower's interior.
However I did get the buttress parts assembled and additionally reinforced inside with cardboard cut from a green tea box. I like green tea so I have no end of empty boxes to cut up for such a purpose. The buttresses make the tower look extremely well anchored to its foundations which I guess is pretty darn essential for a wizard's tower. As an experiment I trimmed 12mm off the tower's roof making the cuts on each face of the roof very slightly curved rather than straight and I must say the tower does look much better in my opinion without such a heavy looking roof. The tower looked like it was hiding under a large hat before I trimmed the roof.
Pictures soon. My camera is busted so I'll have to see what I can do with my cellphone tomorrow.
