Great stuff. I've always wanted to dabble in the game but not sell my spare organs to finance a team from GW.

Well, I am a complete radish . Once the kids are in bed I paint in complete silence as we don't watch TV, my partner reads in bed. I would watch cricket if I was painting but as its all on paid sport channels I can't be arsed.

I usually paint for 2.5 hours at least four nights a week. It has always been very theraputic for me and I really enjoy it so while I have not played a game that often (maybe once a month at best) I have become a painter\collector most of the time.

Good stuff.
I remember in the early 2000 that Wargames Illustrated used to have articles on a lot of "Back and Beyond" games and figures. Nurgaci reminds me of one of those

I quite like painting yellow, though finding a decent paint to use as a base was a struggle until I started to use the Games Workshop one (Something sunset) and then use Vallejo paints for highlights.

These remind me of the cardboard buses and trucks that used to come on the eback of cereal packets in the deep recess of the early 80's.

They look very nice. If later you decide to branch out to 25/28mm scifi, here are some free 25/28mm scifi buildings from germyThanks. I have a tonne of Warzone figures I will sort out eventually so will make great use of those.

Hi there, Given some of the tips and resources here I followed Vermin Kings advice to practice on some free sets before tackling the ones I purchased pre-printed. I found the blog linked on one of the posts here inkjetpaperscissors.blogspot.co.nzPrinted on 160 GSM as its what the printer can support (it eats heavier card) I scaled them down to 65% but then made the usual newbie mistakes in wasting card paper in that I could have printed them two sheets to a page instead of one (le sigh !) . I did start to glue these using PVA and using a rare virtue called "patience" to build them over a few days, it worked well until the kids and cat found them. They were then finished with a hot glue gun as patience fell out the window So below are the two that survived ! Laketown House 3 (I think) and the Laketown Storehouse. Very happy with them, I'll never progress past simple kits but these resources are great for quick terrain for pickup games. So thanks grendels_mother64 ! Cheers

Don't worry I'm new to this so tend to ask simple questions (that the answer is quite obvious if I actually thought about it) !
Ordered !
Thanks

My journey into papercraft\card started 5 or 6 years ago where on a whim I purchased the Pireme Publishing Waterloo kits. I made them too fast with little thought of longevity, construction methods or storage. Below is the finsh piece in 2011 Of course, earthquakes, storage issues and neglect left them in a sorry state and 5 years later I found them again about a month ago in the garage. Pretty beaten up but I am quiet fond of them ( I think it is from making things off weetbox boxes when I was a kid) so I started to repair them ....very crudely. A hot glue gun and coffee stirrers did them the world of good. I am getting there and they are still fairly beaten up (as well as the original construction being poor) but after I base them and disguise things they should last a while longer. So, then from there I started to make the Hougonmont kit, a burger joint (WWG maybe I can't remember) and a few weeks ago I also followed a youtube clip to make some very very basic 1/72 Tudor houses (below) - plenty of mistakes but still enjoyable. So here I am .....I have tried a few other simple card kits for practice but they failed or had accidents (cat \ children) however I can now take what I have learnt as I have a Fort Apache, Vauhban Fort and Spanish village I picked up from paperterrain. From there, as our printer can only handle 160gsm I'll most likley make a few 1/72 cogs\longships from heavy card as I need them for solo games in my fantasy world.

Pretty much everything to be honest. Though my terrain building is all for solo wargames at home in 1/72 fantasy settings as given then plethora of new kits by caeser \ Redbox the world is my oyster.

Thanks.
As a novice most of my initial issues were simply due to assembly methods and storage. I have been making some simple card buildings recently for wargames terrain so I used these not only as practice runs but to also "get my eye in".

Hi there,
I was directed here from the WargamesWebsite post by Coyotepunc (sp?). Over the years I have made a few paper\card kits from Pireme\Paper terrain and have recently started again making my own scenery.
So far I have made so many small mistakes as I get back "into" making things so looking for any tips\recommendatiojns I can find.
Cheers
