Man, these are excellent! Some of the best combination of flats and solid volumes next to Mel Ebbles Marines in space suits.
I hope you see fit to release them someday!
That bat, evil(?) Knight and Skeleton are cool!

Wished I'd have just jumped on the original offer. Ugh. He's buying your assets right... he won't for some weird reason own the rights of the unique individual models self created and displayed and provided here by the forum members, right? (ie. Not the modifications of your work, but original content).

I've not been working on paper miniatures... but Paper tanks. Scratch building and assembling vehicles and hardware for the WH40k genre. Land Raiders both old & new WIP.... templates from BWC & Pataroch The Mk1 era Raider is going to be be for a small fast attack squad of Renegade Space Marines from the Sons of Malice chapter. Probably a 10 man squad with older style models and 2 (1st edition attack bikes). I love these guys because they hate both Chaos and False Emperor marines alike! Completed Predator Mkiiic ... template from Pataroch I don't know why I build the old version...it will probably end up getting painted up for an Emperors Children squad or possibly Sons of Malice. I am gonna do the new style Predaqtor for my Ultra Marines... as well as the new style Land Raider. Marcyrius HT in progress - template from Pataroch. For my Mordian Imperial Guard and to accompany my old Armorcast Baneblade and 2 Lemans on loan from the Cadians in the sector. If anyone is interested in seeing the build logs stop by Zealot.com or Paperhammer40k.com. ~Floyd

Hmm...
Maybe Jim's got something more going on than he can mention at this time. I know he had mentioned before when it was simply a "hobby" for Jim then Litko was very cool about it. So maybe Jim's entered into new, more commercial enterprises. At least I hope that is the case.
BBG account? You mean BGG account? That is strange if so because a lot of prominent game designers/company owners have BGG accounts. That's a fairly vital life line to maintain.
I'd give you $500 for the assets but I'd rather you think about that for a while. Why you'd give up ownership of all your work (here at least) strikes me as a bit foreboding. When looking at the whole... you went from a hard work designing and selling figures as a hobby, then to wanting to move into it full time, then to giving them away, then wanting to do new figures then now to wanting to sellall your hard earned work...I hope Jim, that everything is ok.
I don't mind the splitting of OneMonk from Cardboard-Warrirors, I happen to like the new name.

Looking very nice. I like your figure and I like the earthy colors. The bow is also very cool.
For miniatures on the table you "may" want to test out putting a larger separation in the major body parts & major details.
One minor picking of nits... the foreshortened foot looks a little... maybe.. to small? or it could be that it is not quite sitting on the flat plane line drawn from the bottom of the other foot.
Cheers mate & keep up the good work!

I love the Urban Paper/Custom toy scene. Son of Grumm is great model my MCK. It also appears in print in the Urban Paper Toys book by Matt Hawkings (www.custompapertoys.com). ~Fl0yd

nice work Afet! I really need to cut these out and make them... I wish he had made the dashed lines a softer hue so it wasn't so apparent (especially) in the face folds...

Hi Tom, When you scan them are you scanning them at 100%, at (for example 200dpi) ? Whatever the DPI, make sure you scan at 100%...
Does GIMP have a ruler? That'd be a good way to check to see if the scale is proper...
Just my 2 cents...

But that TF2 Sentry gun would work pretty well scaled down!

And I agree it seems even simple 3d models can take an absurd amount of time to complete and polish.

Incidentally, my maps take on a Doom quality - hard to explain, no overlaps - no "underneath", erm (brain just melted .. again) Now, I wish I had a huge box of grey Lego ... just to line the dungeon corridors... Ha! nice... true... reminds me also of the Build Engine map designs(Duke Nuk'em/Shadow Warrior) these games are/were incidentally where the term (at least to my knowledge) 2.5 came from. Or psuedo 3d. And it's carried over to the table-top. Flat 2d structures combined to give the effect of 3d. Jim's Stalkers are also a prime example of 2.5d. ~F

Cool!!!
You should pick this idea back up and rework it a bit. I'd love to see more. I like the idea of using the tops of the blocks for raised areas of the dungeon, or a walkway across the abyss...etc. My only niggle I have is the doors... I think I'd like them to be more door shaped, smaller rectangles... but it's more from an aesthetic standpoint. Maybe some simple archways that sit atop the corners of the blocks that would create doorway?
Good stuff. I've seen a seen a couple of different approaches to this... but I like your loose, hand drawn-retro stylized look better than most.
~F
ps. Keeping these as simple dungeon scenes/encounters (like your Evil Summonings release) would be a way for you not to be overwhelmed by the # of pieces needed to be created(or the tedium). And allow you to focus on specifics, and after a couple of releases, you'd have a nice variety of parts for big/dynamic dungeon layouts.
