OK, I see what you mean. I saw that you were talking about setting the default paper size using the pixel boxes. You can get the same result by selecting the paper size and resolution in one go from the Template menu. you can even select toilet-paper size

I see some sort of fantasy US-style civil war coming on! Come on! As if I don’t have enough to work on! Jokes aside, that’s brilliant and I’m going to steal it someday when I have time. That was the point, you don't need to do anything extra - I thought the figures were just perfect for the American civil war, because that is what they made me think of as soon as I saw them.

For all versions of GIMP, you can open new file at the paper size and resolution that you want, from the File menu. Click File then New... Create a New Image dialogue will open. From the Template dropdown menu, select the paper size and resolution that you want: ( for some reason, I couldn't take proper screenshot with the menu open.)

It is a somewhat problematic design because the slider hangs out so far at either one, or both ends,... Then make the slider shaped like a bone. That way, the beastie is mompching on a bone! Lack of months, to me at least, isn't a problem. I usually know what month it is, it's they day/date I need reminding.

Hello and welcome to the show! all my "enemy's" give up, bacase in not smart game, things gets even more stupid. I've never really understood that line of thinking. I have read so many times rants from folk about quitting a particular game system because they didn't like the changes to the rules. My view? So what! Just play the version you do like. If you have a group of people who like playing a version from years ago, then play those rules. You won't have the GW Spetsnaz bursting in through your window at 3 a.m. to drag you off to WH40k re-education camp... P.S: sorry for poor English, still a problem to remember some rules from university. Main rules are ready in ukrainian language, but still not good enouth, at least, I upload paper minis for this game)) No worries about the language. Second languages can be pretty hard. I've been living in Finland for over 20-years now and mun suomen kieli on edelleen tosi paska...

...Or can you recommend a space fleet battle game? Ideally one with free rules. As a teenager, I used to Play the Traveller RPG. While Book 2 Starships cover single starship combat, Book 5 Highguard covered multiple ship combat. The rules are now freely available at Traveller SRD. I once used the ship manoeuvring in Book 2 to help teach my youngest about vectors. (I did also use ice hockey)

The base material is ready for drying - they'll sit under the cutting mat and laptop for about a day, to dry out and not curl up. The Dwarfs are doing the same.

I've been a bit disorganised in setting this up, such as changing basing sizes, changing which figures to use for what. So, it's time to plan things a bit. First off, I'm returning to the example armies given in the rules: Golden Alliance Army | | 3x Men-at-Arms regiments | (15 points) | 1x Knights of the Realm regiment | (8 points) | 2x Elven Rangers regiments | (12 points) | 1x Dwarven Stoneguard regiment | (8 points) | 1x Soldiers of the Sun regiment | (7 points) | | | Unholy Blight Army | | 2x Orc Warriors regiments | (10 points) | 4x Goblin Warriors regiments | (8 points) | 1x Battle Demons regiment | (8 points) | 1x Dark Knights regiment | (10 points) | 2x Skeleton Horsemen regiments | (14 points) |
So far, I have prepared: Golden Alliance ArmyMen-at-Arms regiments - hoard 051Dwarven Stoneguard regiment - F0012 fantasy Dwarves Infantry from PermesUnholy Blight ArmyBattle Demons regiment - hoard 034 & hoard 084-085Skeleton Horsemen regiments - Skeleton Sword Cavalry1 from One Monk MiniaturesI've just printed up the Dwarven Stoneguard regiment and also making new bases. The bases themselves are a bit of work, as I need to make large "sheets" of tetured card. Updates and more piccies in the next post...

That looks really good! I like it. Not sure of the current size, but it looks like it would suit us 15 mm guys! I was going to reply "Actually, it would make a good skirmish location - with all the arches and so on, you could easily have a five or six figures a side, shooting crossbows, pistols, what-ever at each other. Then I read down a bit: So, I think you answered your own question! I think it could be made modular, for easier storage. It has four sets of archways, so they could be broken into two or even three pieces. The main brigde roadway could also be broken up. The main challenge, in my mind anyway, would be how to fix the pieces together, so it doesn't move or come apart during play. Why? It's not like you've anywhere else to be! Useless you're not under lock-down like most of us...

I've decided to go for the 40 mm base front. Not because I meet some DBA rules Nazi, but looking at web searches, it sort of suits the figure size, even for paper minis. I re-based my archers onto 40 mm wide bases and they do look much better: For Chronicles of Blood, because human archers are not listed in the basic rules, I will use the same Battle Stats as Men-at-arms, but drop the armour from 2 to 0, but add Archery (60 cm) to Special. My plan now, is to have one base of figures per Wound point and to remove a base when the unit receives a hit.

They look really nice. If I print directly from the PDF, I just use the scale setting in the print dialogue. But If I need to edit the figures, such as putting several together, I then scale the image file down to the desired size. I used try and scale the figures (and buildings) to be as close to true 15 mm as possible, which is about 45 to 48% of the PDF size, but to be honest, because I play solo, I no longer care too much and just print things to 50% percent. There is also a section of the forum dedicated to small scale stuff: 15mm scale Papercrafts

Because I am required to be at work (can't build environmental monitoring stations at home) and because we have family members in the health high-risk groups, I am now shacking up at one of my boys' pad. Only got my laptop and a couple of wargames (map & counter types). So, most projects, such as this Fei Qiu gunship and the 1/100 th Tiger II, are on hold, at least for a few weeks, probably longer. Maybe, I dunno... But, I will find something else to work on. But for this project. Normal service will be resumed shorty. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Rodzokhol small fixes. I slightly increased the size of the model and slightly lengthened it. Soon I will update the pdf on the Wargame Vault In the photo, the old (left) and updated model (right) I would keep both - One is a later/improved version that has slightly better specifications (but for a slightly higher points cost), maybe...

Can I throw these in here? It's a "molten earth" texture I did for the bases for my "Demon Lords" figures. I then played with the edges to get it fairly tile-able. The base tile is not very big on A4 at 300 dpi, but I'm sure someone could play with it. Here is the base tile: And here's what it looks like tiled 2x2:

Out of curiosity, this 8mm hole puncher from AliExpress has free shipping to Australia, how much does it say for Finland ? 8mm hole puncherNice find! It is free to Finland as well. Thanks. Although it says that delivery is 15 to 28 days and that the Finnish post office is notorious for "losing" post from China (seriously, we have lost several item and friends have too), I have ordered it. I have started using the hammer & punch, it was noticed by the tribe members who said "What the blood hell are you doing?" Also, I now have 8 mm rings cut deep into my cutting mat...

Probably not an item you can 3d print... A friend in the UK has offered to do that for me! Also, I have tried impact punches. They're OK in the summer, when you can work outside, but in the winter, you need to be indoors, the hammering some raises the ire of the family...

As for the 8mm hole punch, have you looked at something like a circle cutter. I'm not sure what the minimum radius is but if you buy one, you can cut holes of various sizes using a single tool so while the initial price might be higher, at least it will repay itself in time. I do have a circle cutter, but I find with small items, it is difficult (for me at least) to apply even pressure throughout the circle and I ended up tearing the card.

... ignore and move on! I need a decent art & craft supplier in Finland. Like, I want an 8 mm (5/16𝘵𝘩-inch) hole punch. Sure enough, I can find them online. But the second I click "Shipping to Finland", the postage price becomes like 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘳- 𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘷𝘦-𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 the product price! I know buying in Finland is more expensive for the basic item, but paying just under a tenner is still more preferable than paying nearly twenty.
